We first reported on Shadowgun War Games back in late November 2019 when it was available for pre-registration. Now, the developer has announced that the campaign is a massive success with a whopping 1 million participants and that the game will be launching for both Android and iOS on the 16th of February.

With such a number, this is clearly one of the most anticipated mobile games of this year. Of course, it has a long history dating back further than just the last month or so with a prototype being demonstrated at Gamescom last year. There, developer Madfinger Games also mentioned that it has plans to venture into the esports scene with this title.

Commenting on the successful pre-registration campaign, Madfinger Games’ CEO Marek Rabas described it as “sensational” and said that hitting 1 million is a massive milestone for the studio. He also promised that the full version will make players “lose their minds”.

Shadow War Games Release Date
The game draws heavy inspirations from Overwatch

In case you missed our previous coverage and find the name Shadowgun War Games unfamiliar, it is a 5v5 hero shooter that apparently draws heavy inspirations from Blizzard’s Overwatch. The game features a wide variety of characters to play as, each of which has his/her own abilities and characteristics. As a result, you won’t have any problem finding one that best suits your playstyle.

You can watch the trailer we have included above for a glimpse at the gameplay. FPS games for mobile have certainly been getting more and more popular now that developers are beginning to develop good control schemes for them. Both PUBG and Fortnite run well on smartphones and Call of Duty Mobile was also met with great successes after its launch. Hopefully, Shadowgun War Games can make for another excellent title to add to our collection.
