Cyberpunk 2077, one of the biggest and most hyped games of this decade, is going to be released in 2 weeks. After a whopping three delays, looks like the game is finally going to be released for real this time.

Cyberpunk 2077

The reason for the delay was rumored to be the game's performance on current-gen consoles - this means they must have lowered the minimum system requirements so that it could be played on Xbox One and PS4. In this article, we would explore the newly announced Cyberpunk 2077 Minimum System Requirements to see if your device would be able to run it.

1 - Cyberpunk 2077 Minimum System Requirements PC

  • Resolution: 1080p
  • GFX Settings: Low
  • OS: 64 bit Windows 7, 64 bit Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-3570k, AMD FX-8310
  • Memory: 8 GB
  • Graphics Card: GTX 780, Radeon RX 470
  • VRAM: 3 GB
  • Storage: 70 GB HDD (SSD Recommended)

Comparing this to the previous minimum requirements, everything has dropped for quite a bit - you can actually run this game with 8 GB of RAM on Windows 7 instead of 16 GB of RAM on Windows 10. With the game using the same engine as Witcher 3 at a slightly higher level, it is safe to assume that if your PC is able to run Witcher 3 at a decent setting like "medium", it would be able to handle Cyberpunk 2077 just fine.

The SSD requirement is probably because of the game's heavy load - it is one of the biggest open-world game after all -  expect longer load time if you don't have an SSD.

2 - Cyberpunk 2077 Recommended System Requirements

  • Resolution: 1080p
  • GFX Settings: High
  • OS: 64 bit Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4790, AMD Ryzen 3 3200G
  • Memory: 12 GB
  • Graphics Card: GTX 1060 6GB, GTX 1660 Super, Radeon RX 590
  • VRAM: 6 GB
  • Storage: 70 GB SSD

To play Cyberpunk 2077 at High, you would need at least a mid-tier graphics card with 6 GB of VRAM and a mid-tier processor, along with 12+ GB of RAM. These settings are about the same as Red Dead Redemption 2's recommended settings.

3 - Cyberpunk 2077 High/Ultra System Requirements

  • Resolution: 1440/2160p
  • GFX Settings: Ultra
  • OS: 64 bit Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4790, AMD Ryzen 3 3200G / AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • Memory: 12 GB / 16 GB
  • Graphics Card: GTX 2060, Radeon RX 5700 XT / RTX 2080S, RTX 3070, Radeon RX 6800XT
  • VRAM: 6 GB / 8 GB
  • Storage: 70 GB SSD

Overall, the visual quality of High and Ultra system requirements is about the same - the only thing that Ultra has over High is its higher resolution at 2160p. These settings are for the top of the line PCs with high tier graphics cards.

4 - Cyberpunk 2077 System Requirements for Ray Tracing

If you are into Nvidia's latest shiny technology, Ray Tracing, you would need these specs:

  • Resolution: 1080/1440/2160p
  • GFX Settings: Medium/Ultra/Ultra
  • OS: 64 bit Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4790, AMD Ryzen 3 3200G / Intel Core i7-6700, AMD Ryzen 5 3600 / Intel Core i7-6700, AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • Memory: 16 GB
  • Graphics Card: RTX 2060 / RTX 3070 / RTX 3080
  • VRAM: 6 GB / 8 GB / 10 GB
  • Storage: 70 GB SSD

Only Nvidia Cards are able to do this - overall, Ray Tracing is like Hairworks, barely noticeable but cost a lost of performance.

5 - Cyberpunk 2077 Overview

What is Cyberpunk 2077?

It is an open-world sci-fi RPG based on the fictional dystopian world created by author Mike Pondsmith. It is made by the creator of Witcher 3, CD Projekt Red, and is going to be even bigger than that game, with explorable buildings and driving in a fictional urban area called "Night City" in California.

Can you customize your character?

Cyberpunk 2077 combined the Fixed character of Witcher 3 and the Random character creation of Skyrim together to create something akin to Mass Effect's character creation. You would be playing a specific character named V, but your V can pretty much look like anyone. There would be 3 "lifepath" a.k.a backstories for you to choose from as well... along with different stats and dialogue options that affect outcomes.

The voice actors for Male and Female V are Gavin Drea and Cherami Leigh, respectively.

Gameplay

Overall, the game is comparable to Deus Ex - there are a lot of options for you to fulfill your quest and resolve conflict. You can talk, hack, sneak around, or just shoot your way out - Cyberpunk 2077 is played mostly in first person... for maximum immersion.

Conflict

It is confirmed that you can do a non-lethal run. After player feedback back in 2018, CDPR has given every gun a non-lethal setting. You can freely use pretty much every gun now without having to worry about ruining your quests.

Who is Keanu Reeves' character?

Keanu Reeves' character is Johnny Silverhand, a "digital ghost" that only exist in your head. Expect to see a lot of him throughout your playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077.
