Dragons have always been a big part of video games, and Minecraft is not an exception. The final boss of the game is a black, fire-breathing dragon aptly named "Ender Dragon".

Apparently, The Red Dragon was a mob planned by Notch for a future update. However, since Notch's departure from Mojang AB in 2014, it is uncertain whether the plans for this mob were abandoned when he left the company. Because of that, the only way to enjoy Dragons in Minecraft now is to use mods.

In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase the top 5 best dragon mods in Minecraft 1.19.

1. RLCraft

RL Craft includes a plethora of content such as new mobs, bosses, biomes, and a completely new overhaul that will make the game both incredibly challenging and fun. In this mod pack, everywhere you go in your world is dangerous. This means that mobs are able to spawn during the day and at nighttime. Even staying inside your base will not protect you since the new mobs can appear out of nowhere to attack you.

Interesting features such as thirst, temperature, and first aid will also be introduced that will make the game even more excruciating. In this mod pack, everywhere you go in your world is dangerous. When it comes to dragons, however, RL Craft is amongst the best. Its dragons spawn naturally in any biome and usually flap heavily around the sky and scout for nearby passive mobs or players.

They are very hostile in nature and easily can bombard players on the ground with flames or heavy damage fireballs.

2. Dungeons, Dragons and Space Shuttles

This is one of the biggest mods on curseforge, with a large variety of powerful magic and technic mods, with a lot of exploration and adventure mods on top of that. Currently, there are 1750+ quests, custom-made to fit perfectly in with the modpack.

Dungeons, Dragons and Space Shuttles overhauls countless features in Minecraft, from Food, Brewing Systems, Agriculture to Technology, Storage Systems and Magic. Adventure and Exploration wise, it adds more than 20 dimensions to explore, including other planets. Dragons are just a small part of the offering - players can tame or fight them, alongside other mystical creatures.

The whole thing was made by a team in 24 months, with a considerably high amount of effort and production value.

3. World of Dragons II

World of Dragons II Modpack is rather unorthodox compared to other Dragon-inspired Mods as it also integrates the two opposite sides of prowess, Science and Magic. During the conflict of the two pinnacles of prowess, Dragons rose to become an imminent threat that requires both sides to work together in order to strike them down.

So with World of Dragons, you’re dropped into a world where not only do dragons dominate the sky, but they also power two technology trees that will literally let you forge your own adventure. Add some amazing multiplayer options into the mix, and you get the definitive Minecraft dragon-themed experience. Absolutely a must-try. The further players travel from spawn, the more powerful dragons and regular foes will become, yet, players will also be able to loot strong artifacts and equipment from these defeated foes if they somehow managed to succeed.

4. Ice and Fire: Dragons

Ice and Fire is a mod created by both Raptorfarian and Alexthe666, which hopes to add dragons in a proper way. Currently, Dragons have two types: Ice and Fire. Fire Dragons breathe fire and roam most of the habitable world, whilst Ice Dragons inhabit the coldest places known to man and freeze their prey to death. Both kinds of dragons spawn naturally as adults. There will also be Lightning dragons, powerful nocturnal creatures that deal blasting bolts of lighting to kill their prey.

This mod aims to add several diverse dragons which can be tamed and utilized for players and their needs. Whether it be for combat, farming, or transportation, you name it. There's probably a dragon for it. But beware, taming a dragon isn't an easy feat. You will find befriending such a creature will take hard work and dedication, depending on the dragon and situation.
