Battle Royale is the world favorite genre of the game at the moment. With the rising of games like PlayerUnknown's Battleground or Fortnite, there is no surprise that both of them are on PC and Mobile platforms. So, what if we combine this with the world favorite genre of the past: MOBA? The answer is a game like Survival Heroes: a Battle Royale game with MOBA elements.
Survival Heroes comes from Snail Games, a studio from China. After a long testing phase at its home country with rave reviews, the game finally sees a global release. Currently, the global version is available in Asia and the U.S, on both Android and iOS devices. The world-release will comes at a later date.
On the first impression, Survival Heroes is the mixed bag of both MOBA and the Battle Royale genre. Every player controls a character, with skills like a MOBA game. Then they will choose a location on the Playground to parachute in, find weapons, and try to be the last one survive.
The control scheme and gameplay perspective are just like a MOBA game, namely Arena of Valor, but there will be no shop available in the match. Every equipment must be looted, with no exception. There are more than 30 types of weapons available to players. The weapons will decide the play style of players: some will force players to fight head-on. Others will force players to be sneaky, trying to set up traps.
Also, the players can find monsters on the map to fight and gains XP from them. That means players can also choose between farming to gain XP and weapon, or trying to kill other players to gain a head-start in the game. But, you can't stay in a place for too long, since the playfield will be restricted soon after playing. This is a common element in Battle royale games like PUBG or Fortnite.
