Rockstar Games’ FiveM platform just got a hefty update for May 2025. The folks at Cfx.re, who manage the modding platform, dropped a blog post breaking down everything packed into this latest release.

It’s loaded with upgrades like better performance and fixes for both FiveM and RedM. The changes come from Cfx.re and the community working together. Here’s the rundown of what’s in the May 2025 client update:

FiveM Performance Improvements

Cfx.re says they’ve scored a “big performance jump for FiveM” with this update. You could see “up to double the FPS when tons of Freemode Peds are around.”

This is a game-changer, especially for players on older setups who stick to busy servers. It’s a bigger deal for those limited by their CPU, though folks with weaker GPUs might not notice as much. Plus, server stutters have been cut down too.

Adjustable Wet Cloth Physics And Increased Particle Effects

For a touch of realism, there’s a new feature to tweak how wet clothes stick to characters in GTA V. You can now adjust how clingy they are. Also, the cap on particle effects running at once has been bumped up to 256.

Various Stability Improvements

The blog post mentions a ton of effort went into making FiveM more stable. They’ve squashed several crashes, including ones tied to GTA Online: Agents of Sabotage content and other issues.

New RedM Features

RedM got some cool additions too. You can now use custom loading screens, letting players add their own images—works just like it does in FiveM. Plus, there’s a new way to check the screen’s aspect ratio in RedM.

What is FiveM?

FiveM is a modding platform for Grand Theft Auto V that lets players join custom multiplayer servers. It’s run by Cfx.re and allows for unique roleplay experiences, custom game modes, and more, separate from the official GTA Online.
