Quick rundown on collectibles and their trophies/achievements:

  • 15 Gourdies – trophy Critter Collector – These are tiny beige critters with pointy teeth that look like gourds. Two kinds: normal and blue. Normal ones hang out still, and you catch them by nailing a button combo. Blues are jumpy—sneak up from behind when they're not looking.
  • 18 Purgatory Gates – trophy Annihilator & trophy Challenger of Challenges – There's one per chapter (except Chapter 14), and they're usually easy to spot. Often, just poking into a side area does the trick. Pick your difficulty when you activate one, and you unlock trophy Annihilator by clearing them all. For trophy Challenger of Challenges, tackle them all on the hardest setting. Save that for later—replay from the menu after you've geared up with all weapon upgrades and items.
  • 10 Health Upgrades (20 Upgrade Items) – trophy Ninja Fortitude – These show up as Dragon Lord’s Grace, made from 1x Black Scale and 1x Phantasmal Herb. Grab one of each, and the game mixes them automatically to boost your health bar. You can't snag the finished item straight up; hunt them separately so the game crafts it. That means tracking down 20 items total for all 10 upgrades. This guide hits the ones in chests—the rest drop as mission rewards.
  • Missions – Ninja Business trophy & Work Horse trophy – This guide flags all the chapter-specific missions, tucked in side spots that are easy to skip if you're glued to the main path. General missions pop up anytime in any chapter. Always grab every mission at DarkNest terminals, and turn them in ASAP at the next one—some chain off others.
  • Accessories – The accessories in the game are not required for any trophy, however they will grant useful abilities and as such are worth collecting. Most of them are automatic rewards for completing missions or combat trials, this guide specifically points out the ones you collect from chests, and the rest will come as automatic rewards.

Chapter 1: Bloodsoaked Tokyo

Mission #1 – Execute the D.D.O. distribution officers (Target Area: Sky City Tokyo)

Once you hit the zone with that huge mechanical doll head floating overhead, hang a right instead of left on the story route. Head right then left (no choice there anyway), and wall-run over two wide gaps. You'll wind up in a blind alley with a giant fan blade looming behind. The officer's hanging out— just wipe out all the foes.

Purgatory Gate #1

Right before your second Caddis Wire swing over a building gap, veer left to spot three parked dump trucks. Dash past them, hook a left into an alley, and pull off the flying bird technique. Up on the roof, the gate's dead ahead.

Gourdy #1

From that last spot, drop back to the main route and zip across the gap with the Caddis Wire. On the far side, swing left not right, and you'll see the Gourdy chilling by some crates.

Accessory #1 (Cobalt Ring)

After another Caddis Wire leap, you'll run into your first surveillance drone (the hookable kind) with flat screens behind it. Usually you'd gate left, but go right this time. Trail the path to a dead-end alley and crack the chest for the Cobalt Ring.

Mission #2 – Find the data chip in Sky City Tokyo (Target Area: Sky City Tokyo)

When you reach the troop carrier aircraft on the heli pad, check the far right corner straight ahead—three chests lined up. The data chip's glowing blue on the floor left of them. You'll basically trip over it on the main path, so it's tough to overlook.

Chapter 2: Haunted District

Purgatory Gate #2

As you step into the stage with flying D.D.O. enemies and drones, hook the Caddis Wire up the big building ahead, swing right, and weave through the blue shipping containers to hit a separate monorail track in a wrecked building. It's the non-glowing one. Grind it till you bail, then climb stairs to the gate.

Health Upgrade #1 (Black Scale)

Post the big scrap with flying D.D.O.s and drones, you'll hit a new monorail track you could grind, but turn left and pop the chest in front instead.

After the second main monorail stretch, you land in a spot with two regular shops and a flying bird jump zone. After the jump, spin around instead of forward. Leap the gap left and hop another monorail. At its end, fight the airborne and ground enemies. Clear 'em to wrap the mission.

Mission #6 – Execute the renegade D.D.O. soldiers (Target Area: Sky City Tokyo)

Again, in that wall-run-to-higher-platform section for the story, drop down and veer right into a corridor. At its end, off the renegade D.D.O. soldiers.

Chapter 4: Pilgrim’s Windswept Path
