Teleporters, often called Teleporter Portals, are a game-changing feature in Hytale that let you instantly zip across the vast world of Orbis. Perfect for escaping danger, returning to base, or connecting distant outposts, they form customizable networks for efficient exploration.

Step 1: Unlock the Teleporter Recipe via the Forgotten Temple

Before crafting, you must progress through Hytale's memory system at the Forgotten Temple. This ancient structure is marked by a unique icon on your map, often near spawn areas.
- Locate the Forgotten Temple and approach the entrance.
- Deal with the guardian: Sprint past it or fight to defeat it.
- Enter the portal inside to reach the Heart of Orbis altar.
- Explore the world to encounter creatures and NPCs, collecting "memories."
- Return to the altar to record memories, filling a progress bar and unlocking rewards.
Collect at least 100 memories to unlock the teleporter crafting recipe. This progression also sets your initial teleporter limit.
Step 2: Upgrade Your Workbench and Craft the Arcanist's Workbench

Teleporters are crafted at the Arcanist's Workbench, a mid-game station.
- Build a basic Workbench if you haven't already (via pocket crafting).
- Upgrade it to Tier 2 at the Workbench menu:
| Material | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Copper Ingots | 30 |
| Iron Ingots | 20 |
| Linen Scraps | 20 |
- Craft the Arcanist's Workbench at the upgraded Tier 2 Workbench:
| Material | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Thorium Ingots | 10 |
| Linen Scraps | 30 |
| Essence of the Void | 20 |
Material Sources:
- Copper/Iron Ingots: Mine underground in starting biomes like Emerald Wilds.
- Linen Scraps: Loot from defeated humanoid enemies.
- Thorium Ingots: Mine in Howling Sands biome mountains or Desert Oasis caves.
- Essence of the Void: Drop from green, glowing nighttime creatures.
Step 3: Gather Materials and Craft Teleporters

Head to the Azure Forest biome (blue areas on the map) for key ingredients.
| Material | Source | Quantity (for 2 Teleporters) |
|---|---|---|
| Azure Logs | Blue trees in Azure Forest | 8 |
| Azure Kelp | Shallow ponds/rivers in Azure Forest | 2 |
| Any Stone | Everywhere (mine basic stone) | 10 |
Open the Arcanist's Workbench, go to the Portals tab, and craft. Each recipe yields two linked portals.
Step 4: Place, Link, and Use Your Portals

- Place the two portals at desired spots (they appear on your map with warp icons).
- Interact (right-click) with a portal:
- Name it (e.g., "Home Base").
- Select "Target Warp" from the dropdown of placed portals.
- Repeat for the second portal to make travel bidirectional.
- Walk into (or approach) a portal to instantly teleport!
Portals support many-to-many networks: Link multiple to a central hub for easy access to farms, mines, or biomes.
Expanding Your Network: Increase Teleporter Limits
Your max active teleporters starts low and grows as you collect more memories.
| Memories | Max Teleporters |
|---|---|
| 0 | 2 |
| 25 | 3 |
| 50 | 4 |
| 100 | 6 |
| 200 | 8 |
Return to the Forgotten Temple often to bank memories and raise your cap up to 8 (or 12 in endgame per some reports).
