The Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.90.20 beta and preview, dropped on April 22, 2025, brought some solid updates and new stuff. Here’s the rundown on the five best changes and features, based on what’s out there.

Better Leash System

Bread Llamas

You can now tie multiple mobs together in a chain, which makes herding animals or moving mobs way easier. You can also hook mobs to existing leash knots just by clicking, and use shears to free them or cut knots. This makes managing farms or hauling mobs around a lot smoother.

Vibrant Visuals by Default

Sildurs Vibrant Shaders

The game now uses upgraded visuals as standard on supported devices, with better lighting, air effects, and colors. It’s got custom biome looks for mod makers, more realistic underwater light, and fixes for annoying glitches like cloud shadows jumping on Android. Everything just looks sharper and pulls you in more.

Happy Ghast Fixes

Driad Ghast

The Happy Ghast, that new flying mount, got some polish. It turns nicer now, and when you’re riding one, other players can see you even if it’s not moving. The hitbox for riders is spot-on, and they fixed a glitch where random players could nudge a piloted Ghast. It’s now a smoother, more dependable ride.

Cleaner Interface

The interface got some love, especially in Creative Mode. The jump and dash bars don’t mess with the locator bar when they’re off, and player dots on the locator show up right in third-person during split-screen. These tweaks make moving around and playing with friends clearer.

New Debug Tools

They added a bunch of debug tools (like DebugArrow, DebugBox, DebugCircle, etc.) and a debugDrawer thing for platforms like Windows, PlayStation, Xbox, and iOS. These help creators see and test complicated setups, making it simpler to build custom mods or content.
