Muv-Luv Girls Garden now has a free Steam demo, giving players outside Japan a chance to sample the idle RPG before its global launch later this year. The Japan version went live on DMM Games in September 2025. The Steam build is the official worldwide edition, with English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Japanese support.

What the Game Is About

You play an amnesiac commander who survived the Maze, a vast underground space under Zar'tum Island where gravity and living things no longer follow normal rules. The girls of Zar'tum Academy pilot giant humanoid machines called Maze Guarders, or MGs, as they mine Tatsumiya Ore and fight the threats that live below. Combat is fully automatic. You set the squad, relics, and route, then watch the battles play out.

 

The academy side is the other half of the loop. Zar'tum is a self contained city with classrooms, shops, and living quarters. Talking with the pilots unlocks extra scenes and character stories. The setting is new rather than a direct sequel, though the creative team includes Hayato Tashiro on worldbuilding, Siino and Pro-p on character design, and Wataru Inada on the machines. The Muv-Luv series as a whole has sold more than 800,000 copies.

The Demo and the Full Release

The Steam page now lists a downloadable demo. It is the first easy way for global players to try the auto RPG without a DMM account. The full game is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026. Developers and publishers for the Steam version are MOEDOKI, Shiravune, and aNCHOR Inc. It will be free to play, with gacha and in game purchases.

A related spin off, Muv-Luv Girls Garden Mellow Days, also has a Steam demo. That title is a desktop companion focused on work sessions with Meru Momozono, using a Pomodoro timer, to do list, and ambient sound. Its full release is planned for November 2026. It is separate from the main RPG, but it uses the same cast.

Who This Is For

Longtime Muv-Luv fans will recognize the tone even if the plot stands on its own. New players get a low pressure way to meet the girls and the Maze without reading the original visual novels first. The demo is the best current test of whether the auto combat and school scenes hold your interest until the global launch.
