Rockstar Games has pushed a new background update for GTA Online that targets a long list of problems affecting the finale of The Kortz Center Heist. The server-side patch arrived around July 30, 2026, during an ongoing Event Week. Players do not need to download anything. The changes apply automatically.

The Kortz Center Heist launched on July 14, 2026. It tasks crews with infiltrating the upscale cultural complex, stealing high-value artworks from its exhibition and vault, and making a clean getaway. Hosts need an Art Studio attached to a Mansion, though crew members can join without one. Like many large updates, it arrived with technical issues that drew player complaints, especially during the finale.

This latest background update focuses on the finale. Key fixes include:

  • Guards no longer alert without an apparent trigger.
  • The hedge maze guard near the sewer exit no longer alerts the rest of the team when hit with a stun gun.
  • Cutscene delay when entering via the skylight has been removed.
  • Guards in the hedge maze no longer react to player noise as readily.
  • CCTV dialogue no longer plays after the EMP disables the cameras.
  • Players no longer respawn in front of the Kortz Center when they die elsewhere.
  • Players in disguise are no longer spotted by cameras at the loading bay.
  • Security room guards are no longer alerted more easily than designed.

Earlier July updates already fixed missing Art Studio equipment and Stealth Annihilator problems. These new corrections should make stealth approaches more reliable and reduce soft locks or unexpected alerts that forced restarts.

Players running the heist for high payouts or to display stolen art in their Mansions will benefit most. The changes sit alongside the larger Title Update 1.73 notes. Rockstar continues monitoring the content, so further adjustments remain possible.
