A new Elden Ring project from Tobyn Jacobs drops Minecraft into the Lands Between. The clip that started it is short and blunt. He says he put the entire game of Minecraft into Elden Ring as a mod, and that it runs on Mac. What follows is Steve with a hotbar and a diamond sword standing in front of bosses that were never meant to meet a crafting table.

What the mod actually does

This is not a Creeper skin glued onto a Tarnished. Jacobs is showing Minecraft systems running on top of FromSoftware's world. The project includes around 1,600 items from the sandbox, covering tools, weapons, blocks, and gear. The Minecraft UI sits on screen the whole time: hearts, hunger, armor, XP, inventory, and a hotbar you can swap mid fight.

You can play as Steve in first or third person. You place blocks in Limgrave, craft on a workbench, and swing Minecraft weapons at Elden Ring enemies. Footage shows dirt pillars going up during a Fire Giant fight and End pearls used to dodge bosses that usually demand a greatsword.

Redstone and Creative Mode

Redstone is the part that makes the claim feel real instead of cosmetic. Clips show circuits that work. Levers flip. Pistons push. Lamps light. You can build traps and machines in a map that was designed for grace sites and rune farming, not repeaters.

Creative Mode is in too. That means free flight over Raya Lucaria, unlimited blocks, and the option to drop spawn eggs into a boss arena. The result is comedy first. A Tree Sentinel is still a Tree Sentinel. Steve just gets to ignore the usual rules while the Lands Between stays in the background.

Can you play it yet?

Not as a public file. Jacobs posted the showcase on X and YouTube on September 29, 2026. The videos spread fast. He later said he would be open to a release, but he built this while messing around and has not locked in a way to ship it. Elden Ring also has no native Mac version, so the Mac claim is still part of the puzzle.

Until a download exists, the project is a proof of concept and a loud joke. Beat Margit with a wooden shield. Fly over Stormveil. Wire redstone across a field that once belonged to Godrick.
