After a long period of 15 years, the legendary Reggie Fils-Aimé – the CEO of Nintendo of America, which is the North division of Japan’s video game company Nintendo, has finally given up on taking the name and kicking butt. He was a celebrity in the gaming community, which has been in countless of memes, and has been dubbed by many gamers as “The Regginator” and even “Reggielution”. His rise to popularity came almost way back in 2004 in the Nintendo E3 Press Conference, where he introduced himself by saying: "My name is Reggie, I'm about kickin' ass, I'm about takin' names, and we're about makin' games".

The legendary Reggie was succeeded by none other than a man with the “biggest” name of all which is Doug Bowser. You can instantly imagine how many jokes will be written concerning his last name only.

For those who haven’t understand, his last name, “Bowser”, was the same name as the main villain in the Mario franchise, a fire-breathing who is constantly kidnapping Princess Peach and plotting to defeat our main protagonist Mario and take over the Mushroom Kingdom. Gamers surely have taken good advantage of this and made good fun of the new CEO.

Barely a few seconds after the announcement, the social media was exploded with millions of variants of the same meme.  For example, a Tweet from a Twitter user known as “Craig Bro Dude” stated that Nintendo has given the key of Mushroom Kingdom to Bowser. This is clearly a reference from the Mario franchise.

Or you can see Doug Bowser holding a sign that says: “Thank You For The Warm Welcome” with Mario and Luigi got tied up behind. A “friendly” sign showing that there will “not” be another Mario game, according to a Twitter user known as “Nibel”.
