Microsoft has revealed introductory launch pricing for Xbox Cloud Gaming playtime packs. These packs let players stream supported games without a Game Pass subscription. The option is available now to Xbox Insiders and rolls out more broadly in November. Purchased hours do not expire and remain available until used. Each pack delivers an ad-free experience with shorter wait times and higher-quality streaming.

The introductory pricing is as follows:

  • 10 hours for $3.99
  • 25 hours for $7.99
  • 50 hours for $11.99

This works out to roughly 40 cents per hour at the smallest pack and about 24 cents per hour at the largest. Players still need to own a cloud-playable game or access a supported free-to-play title. A free ad-supported option is also in testing for Insiders, though it comes with longer waits and lower quality.

The timing lines up with the November 19 release of Grand Theft Auto VI on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Microsoft has confirmed streaming rights for the game on Xbox Cloud Gaming at launch, though the service is not exclusive and will not stream the title to PC. For Xbox owners or players using supported devices, the new packs offer a practical way to jump into GTA 6 without a full Game Pass membership. A 50-hour pack could cover multiple play sessions in Vice City and beyond, while smaller packs suit shorter sessions or testing the stream quality first.

Starting in November, Game Pass tiers themselves face monthly cloud limits of 15 hours for Ultimate, 10 for Premium, and 5 for Essential. Additional packs can top those up. The prepaid model therefore gives non-subscribers a clear path to play major releases like GTA 6 on the cloud when the broader service opens next month. Availability and features may vary by market and device, and Microsoft notes the current prices are introductory.
