Many of us, especially kids, at least once dream to turn into a cool superhero like Spider-Man or Ironman to save the world or just to possess the supernatural power. However, not all can differentiate between the real world and cinematic world. The following incident is such an example.

Black Widow Spider
The venom of the black widow spider is 15 times stronger than that of the rattlesnake.

The victims include three boys ranging from 8, 10, and 12 years old. They live in the town of Chayanta, Bolivia. While herding sheep, these brothers found a black widow spider and came up with the idea that if they were bitten by the spider, they may have supernatural power like Spider-Man in Marvel’s movies.

They provoked the venomous spider with a stick and tried to catch it so that it could directly bite on their skin. However, instead of possessing the superpower like climbing wall or shooting webs, the siblings quickly showed some symptoms such as spasms, increased heart-rate, or abdominal cramps. That means the venom of the black widow spider was spreading into their bodies.

When the incident happened, the boys’ mother was collecting pieces of wood nearby and soon realized her children cried aloud. She immediately took them to the Chayanta health centre; however, they continued to feel the pain after taking medicine.

Black Widow Spider Spiderman
It's not easy to turn into Spider-Man.

The boys were rushed to a hospital in Llallague before they once again were moved to the Children's Hospital in La Paz, Bolivia. According to Virgilio Pietro, they still kept suffering from muscle pains, sweating, and fever until they were treated with a special serum. Virgilio Pietro is reportedly the Head of Epidemiology of the Health Ministry. After the 5-day treatment, all of these boys recovered completely and returned to their home.

The venom of the black widow spider is allegedly 15 times stronger than that of the rattlesnake. However, most of the spider’s victims aren’t in a dangerous situation although its venom can lead to death among children, old people, and those who are in the weak physical condition. This kind of spider isn’t often fierce and just bite for self-defense – that may be why the boys must use a stick to provoke the dangerous spider.

After the unique incident, Virgilio Pietro had to send a message in a press conference saying that parents should help their children understand the differences between reality and movies.
