What the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to look like when Avengers: Endgame concludes still remains largely a mystery. The studio has, understandably, been carefully protecting the details of just how the final showdown between the Avengers and Thanos the Mad Titan will play out, and what the fates of our favorite superheroes will be after the dust (get it?) settles.

What will happen after Avengers: Endgame?

What we do know so far is that Marvel has plans to make several more movies in the future, including one about the superhuman race The Eternals. This movie was initially revealed back in April 2018, and in September Marvel announced that it’d be directed by Chloe Zhao. Now, according to The Hollywood Report, the movie is seemingly in talks with famous actress Angelina Jolie for a role. However, there is currently no specific details yet.

Angelina Jolie might become part of the MCU?

In the comics, the Eternals are an ancient race created by the cosmic beings known as the Celestials. Eternals possess very long life, superhuman strengths, psionic abilities, as well as having certain controls over cosmic energy. The name “Eternals” is not very widely recognized, however, as it was one of Marvel’s relatively obscure properties. Still, created by the legendary writer/artist Jack Kirby way back in the 1970s, the Eternals have become a big part of the Marvel Universe. With a long history of more than 40 years in publication, the franchise has seen many rich stories and complex characters that combine fiction with mythology in our real world.

As for The Eternals movie, specifics about the characters and plot have not been confirmed yet, but it will reportedly cast its focus on Ikaris, a near-immortal being who goes under the nickname "Sovereign" who is the leader of a team called the "New Breed", as well as Sersi, another being who has lived amongst humans for millennia and who has the power to manipulate matters.
