A diamond is a rare mineral obtained from diamond ore or loot chests. They are amongst the highest tier of materials in Minecraft and can be used for a lot of things, such as high tier tools, weapons, and armor.

1. Buried treasure chest
Buried treasure is a naturally generated structure that consists of a buried loot chest. The chest is buried primarily on beaches, and rarely on the ocean floor. The buried treasure chest can be found by exploring a treasure map from shipwreck chests or an apprentice cartographer.
Players need to locate and travel to the red cross on the map. The chest itself is not a structure but the shipwreck that contains the map is. Diamonds have a whopping 60% to be generated in these chests. Players should keep their eyes out for any shipwrecks they come across.
2. End City
End Cities are special structures that spawn in the End. They are populated by Shulkers (whose shells can be used for shulker boxes) and are the only place where you can get an Elytra in Minecraft. Overall, End City is one of the hardest zones in the game, as you need to beat the Ender Dragon to get access to it.
As this is an end-game zone, players can find chests with some of the best loot in the game here. There is a 21.2% chance of two to seven diamonds generating in them. Enchanted diamond gears can also spawn, which is actually much better than just getting diamonds.
3. Nether Fortress
Nether Fortresses are large structures that spawn in the Nether. It stands out from the ordinary red (or grey or blue, depending on your biome). The usual Fortress is massive, made out of dark red bricks and filled with dangerous monsters. It is common to get lost or killed here if you are not careful.
There is a 19% chance of at least one to three diamonds generating in a Nether Fortress chest. Players can also find other diamond tools, weapons, and armor in these chests.
4. Bastion Remnants
Bastion remnants are one of the toughest and most dangerous structures to beat in Minecraft, so extra care has to be taken to survive. You will see piglins and piglin brutes in the bastion, who is extremely dangerous in numbers. Bastion Remnants have a 15.8% chance of having two to six diamonds in their treasure chest.
The best variant has a Treasure room. When exploring it, after clearing out the areas above, you should fill in the surrounding lava and disable/close off the Magma Cube spawner.
5. Shipwrecks
Shipwrecks are generated structures resembling sailing ships that are found in most of the Overworld’s aquatic landscapes. They are broken down ships that might contain hidden treasure chests.
These chests have a 14.1% chance of generating a diamond. While going out of your way to look for them is not ideal, clearing out one and then locating the buried treasure is pretty profitable.
