Los Santos Drug Wars, the new major content update for Winter 2022, is a two-parter and the first section of the story will drop on Tuesday, December 13. It will injects a new psychoactive strain of chaos into Grand Theft Auto Online on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

New Winter update
Head straight to Blaine County and join up with old pal Nervous Ron and a new band of out-of-state misfits on a mission to put their stamp on the Los Santos psychedelics trade. Fight off an unlikely coalition of wealthy hippies and trigger-happy bikers while cooking up potent hallucinogenics — in elaborate labs or out of your own massive rolling chemistry set — in the opening chapter of an expansive new two-part story update for GTA Online.
Ron Jakowski is a paranoid conspiracy theorist, entrepreneur, and podcaster. He is one of the main characters in GTA V and the deuteragonist of Trevor Philips.
In GTA Online, Ron is first seen with Trevor when he meets the GTA Online Protagonist. He then gives the Player missions for Trevor, occasionally calling to remind the Player about Crate Drops.
He is later seen helping Trevor in Series A Funding often being the person the Crew meets at the end of each setup mission. He also provides information to the crew through Earpieces during some of the missions. He is then seen briefly in the Finale, informing the Crew of the Gangs incoming attack on Trevor.
Towards the end of the announcement post, Rockstar Games confirms that the update includes a new business enterprise for players to operate, as well as new vehicles, missions, and experiential upgrades. But, one of the most intriguing tidbits from the announcement is that the new DLC will include "significant story and gameplay updates".
New Weapons and Collectibles
Leaker alloc8or on GTA Forums revealed 4 new weapons for the update. They were originally unused content from the canceled Cops N Crooks update that was planned to release in 2020:
- Police Baton
- Riot SMG
- Police Rifle
- A special version of the Stun Gun that was specifically for Cops n Crooks
New Christmas collectibles will also be coming to GTA Online, players will be able to collect Snowmen, similar to the Pumpkin event on Halloween a few months ago. By participating, they will be able to win snacks, armor, money and more.
New Missions and Vehicles
Additionally, alloc8or also revealed 5 new upcoming mission themes as part of the update, scheduled for release on December 13th, with the upcoming themes being
- Train Crash
- Cargo Plane
- Rescuing your cook (make sure you read this correctly)
- Hippy Rivals
- something themes around chemicals and explosives
Finally, he also reveals that around 50 new vehicle slots are coming to Grand Theft Auto: Online with the upcoming Los Santos Drug Wars Update.
