Developed by 111 Dots Studio and published by Garena, it has become one of the most downloaded and played games on the handheld platform. The game recently broke the record for having over 100 million daily active players. Free Fire is celebrating its 3rd anniversary for quite some time now. Yet, do you know that today is actually the birthday of the title that we all come to know and love?

When was Garena Free Fire First Released?

The Alpha Test version of Free Fire kicked off in August 2017. The BETA came a month later, on September 30th, 2017. The official version of Garena Free Fire hit the live global server in December 2017. Today, August 23rd is considered the official birthday of the game. It’s also the “peak day” of the celebration events starting from 13th August with the Time Tunnel and Capsule event.

3rd Anniversary Celebration Events

To celebrate the 3rd birthday of the game, the publisher offers players the opportunity to claim 1 out of the 26 characters. You can do that simply by logging in the game. As we mentioned in previous articles, in the “peak day” of the event, players can get up to 5 Blue Chips per match as well as more awakening shards in Free Fire. The celebration will last till 30th August.
