The Free Fire OB49 Update introduces significant changes, including a new map, room card system overhaul, and more, as part of the game’s 8th anniversary celebration.

Here’s a detailed breakdown based on the latest information available.

New Map: Solara

Dropping in May 2025, with a test run on the OB49 Advance Server from May 5 to May 19, 2025.

Hq720

Solara’s the seventh map in Free Fire, joining the lineup after Bermuda, Bermuda Remastered, Kalahari, Purgatory, Alpine, and Nexterra. It’s got a tri-zonal setup with three different areas:

  • Futuristic Zone: High-tech spot with tall buildings for fast-paced fights.
  • Mountainous Zone: Rough, rocky area perfect for setting up ambushes or using height to your advantage.
  • Desert Zone: Open and sandy, like Kalahari, great for wide-open battles.
  • Thunder Zone: Risky but packed with top-tier loot.
  • Nebula Port: Futuristic port where you’ll need sharp close-range skills.
  • Canyon Lab: Old research lab with smart loot spots.

The map’s got everything—open fields, valleys, bunkers, and labs—so you can snipe from afar or duke it out up close.

Room Card Changes

After OB49, you won’t need room cards to make custom matches, so private lobbies are open to everyone.

They’re bringing in a new card for a “unique experience,” maybe for special modes or room perks. Not much info yet. Everyone gets one of these new cards for free after the update.

Old room cards will be hard to come by since daily missions for them are gone. Hang onto what you’ve got. Before OB49, room cards were 100 diamonds or available through the guild store. Those options are getting scrapped.
