The Genshin Impact Version 6.0 livestream, called "Luna I" or "Song of the Welkin Moon," dropped a ton of info on August 29, 2025, as the game hits its 5th anniversary. Streamed on Twitch and YouTube, it showed off a new region, new characters, banners, events, story stuff, and some handy updates. Here’s everything Hoyoverse revealed during the stream.

The New Region: Nod-Krai Emerges

Nod-Krai, a frosty new area south of Snezhnaya, got revealed with three islands: Lempo Isle, a cozy town full of workshops where Ineffa and Aino hang out; Hiisi Island, home of the Frostmoon Scions with hills, mountains, and ruins; and Paha Isle, a Fatui stronghold with a huge mechanical dome over the sea. You’ll need Adventure Rank 28 and either the Prologue Act 3 or Liyue story done to get there. Exploring Nod-Krai comes with cool new mechanics like Kuuvahki power for getting around and Meeting Points to chat with characters. Expect new bosses, puzzles, mini-games, and a reputation system tied to those points. There are also ancient underwater ruins and moonbeam-tracing stuff for some extra mystery.

New Characters and Their Kits

Three new characters are joining the roster, each tied to Nod-Krai’s story and packing unique elemental tricks.

  • Lauma (5-Star Dendro Catalyst): Part of the Frostmoon Scions, she boosts Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Burgeon reactions with a Lunar-Bloom mechanic. Her Elemental Skill makes these reactions crit, and her Burst pumps up their damage. Perfect for Dendro-focused teams.
  • Flins (5-Star Electro Polearm): A Main DPS from the Lightkeepers, Flins is all about the Lunar-Charged reaction. His Elemental Skill shifts him into a Manifest Flame form, juicing up his Normal and Charged Attacks with Electro. His Burst, Thunderous Symphony, dishes out AoE Electro damage with lower energy costs.
  • Aino (4-Star Hydro Claymore): From the Clink-Clank Krumkake Craftshop, you can snag Aino for free by progressing through Nod-Krai’s Archon Quest. Her Elemental Skill throws a Musecatcher for Hydro damage, and her Burst sets up a water-spraying gadget for periodic Hydro shots.

Nahida and Yelan are also coming back for reruns in the banners.

Banner Schedule and Weapons

Here’s the banner lineup for 6.0, split into two phases with new weapons.

  • Phase 1 (September 10 to September 30, 2025): Lauma’s "Moonsong of the Groves" banner runs with Nahida’s "The Moongrass Enlightenment" rerun. New 5-Star weapon: Nightweaver’s Looking Glass (Catalyst, Lauma’s signature). Returning: A Thousand Floating Dreams (Nahida’s). Aino gets boosted drop rates here.
  • Phase 2 (October 1 to October 22, 2025): Flins’ "The Lone Light Knocks at Night" banner pairs with Yelan’s "Discerner of Enigmas" rerun. New 5-Star weapon: Bloodsoaked Ruins (Polearm, Flins’ signature). Returning: Aqua Simulacra (Bow, Yelan’s). Aino’s boosted rates carry over.

A Chronicled Wish banner will focus on Sumeru characters, with weapons like Light of Foliar Incision and Key of Khaj-Nisut. Nod-Krai also brings two new artifact sets and a craftable weapon.

Story and Archon Quests

Two new Archon Quests push the story forward under "Song of the Welkin Moon":

  • Act 1: A Dance of Snowy Tides and Hoarfrost Groves: Kicks off Nod-Krai’s story, introducing key characters and setting up the region’s conflicts.
  • Act 2: Elegy of Dust and Lamplight: Digs into Nod-Krai’s drama, including Fatui schemes and a meeting with Columbina, the Third Fatui Harbinger, if you finish it.

Clear these quests quick for Primogems and other rewards.

Events and Gameplay Additions

6.0 is packed with events to keep you busy:

  • Clink Clank Clash: The main Nod-Krai event, giving a free 4-Star Catalyst (Etherlight Spindlelute), Primogems, and mini-games with double artifact rewards.
  • Dodoco’s Blow-Up-Erative Bomb-Nanza: A tabletop game where you control Dodoco to blast Spikey Fish enemies for Boom Points and rewards.
  • Lightgleaner's Journey: A photo event across Teyvat for rewards and companion pics.
  • Overflowing Favor: Hands out artifacts and other loot.
  • To Temper Thyself and Journey Far: A 12-week event with weekly tasks like Daily Commissions and Resin use, rewarding Sanctifying Elixirs and up to four 5-Star character constellations.

New TCG cards, rhythm game songs, permanent Traveler tales with character invites, and a UGC system for player-made mini-games and PVP (with creator payouts) were also shown.

5th Anniversary Rewards

For the game’s 5th birthday starting September 28, 2025, the "Rainbow’s End: Silvery Flux" event offers:

  • A free 5-Star character (choose from Diluc, Mona, Jean, Qiqi, Keqing, Dehya, Tighnari, or Yumemizuki Mizuki).
  • 20 Intertwined Fates, new pets, Sanctifying Elixirs, Fragile Resin, and more from login events and Missive of Grace.
  • Free constellations for owned 5-Star characters, claimable every quarter.

Optimizations and Quality-of-Life Updates

HoYoverse made some player-friendly changes:

  • Characters at C6+ can hit Level 100 (up from 90) using Stella Fortuna items, converted from extra constellations.
  • Natlan compass now supports 100% exploration, test run rewards are simpler, and Battle Pass includes local specialties.
  • Auto-filling artifact sets, easier co-op, and no day locks on farming materials during a character’s launch week.
  • Imaginarium Theater now needs 32 characters for higher difficulty, with better rewards and tradable collections.
