Honkai: Star Rail Leaks New Path, Third Anniversary Character

A fresh leak about Honkai: Star Rail is pointing to a big new character for the game’s third anniversary next year, with Yae Sakura joining the lineup. This sci-fi RPG from HoYoverse has been rolling out all sorts of characters for players to build their squads with for over two years now. The game just added Hysilens in the Version 3.5 update, and Cerydra is coming later in the same patch. Now, leaks are suggesting another character from Honkai Impact 3rd is on the way.

Connection to Honkai Impact 3rd

Since Honkai: Star Rail is a spinoff of Honkai Impact 3rd, it’s no surprise it borrows a lot from the older game. Characters like Bronya, Seele, and Acheron are alternate takes on ones from Honkai Impact 3rd, often with little nods to the original. HoYoverse even made it clear that Welt Yang on the Astral Express is the exact same guy from the main story of Honkai Impact 3rd. Now, a leak is hinting that Yae Sakura, a fan-favorite from the older game, is coming to Star Rail next year.

Yae Sakura Details

A well-known leaker, Anon Leaks, dropped some info suggesting Yae Sakura will join Honkai: Star Rail in Version 4.2, the anniversary update. She’s expected to be an Ice Elation character, and HoYoverse is apparently building a whole team setup around her, called the "Elation Battleship." Version 4.2 should hit in April 2026.

More leaks about Yae Sakura are giving fans a heads-up on her debut. She’ll be part of a new Path introduced with the game’s fifth playable world, joining the Elation Path. Other leaks mention a new version of the five-star character Sparkle and the usual Trailblazer variant joining this Path too.

Upcoming Roster Additions

The Honkai: Star Rail roster is getting some cool new faces soon, and fans won’t have to wait until Yae Sakura drops. Version 3.6 will bring new variants of March 7th and Dan Heng. Evernight, possibly a memory-reawakened March 7th, will be an Ice Remembrance character, while Dan Heng’s "Permansor Terrae" will show up as a Physical Preservation character. The game’s lineup is set to grow a ton in the coming months.
