Team Trials is the main PvP mode in Umamusume: Pretty Derby. You start at Class 1 and can climb all the way to Class 6. Hitting Class 6 not only puts you among the top players but also hooks you up with solid rewards like Carats and Friend Points. This guide breaks down some practical ways to boost your Class rank and keep it high.
How To Get Class 6 Ranking in Umamusume: Pretty Derby
To move up in Class rank, you need to beat the promotion score threshold, which creeps up over time based on the average score of players in your class. Right now, you’ll need about 420,000 points in Team Trials to jump from Class 5 to Class 6, and around 450,000 points to stay in Class 6. That means each of your sub-teams needs to pull in over 80,000 points per race to get close.
If your team of 15 umas is at least B+ rank with solid stats and skills, you’re in a good spot to aim for Class 6. Here’s how to rack up those points consistently.
Improve Weak Links
Don’t just focus on making one super-strong uma for each race type. Start by boosting your weakest runners. You get big score bonuses when all your teammates finish in the top three or top five in a race. For example, your team scoring 3rd, 4th, and 5th will net you more points than getting 1st, 6th, and 7th. Make sure every uma on your team is strong enough to compete for the top spots. The dream is snagging 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each race, which also stacks up points with the Winning Streak bonus.
Opponent Difficulty
Pick the toughest opponent (the top option) first since they give a score boost when you win. If you’re losing too much, switch to the middle difficulty. A 5x win streak can make up for the lost bonus from picking a harder opponent.
High Scoring Skills
Every skill that triggers adds to your score. Unique skills give the most points, followed by rare skills, then normal ones. Go for skills that are likely to activate during a race.
Concentration Skill
The rare Concentration skill, which comes from the SSR Tazuna Hayakawa Support Card, cuts down time lost from slow starts. Each uma can grab 5,000 points for a Strong Start, and Concentration guarantees it happens. Plus, it gives 1,200 points just for activating. It’s a must for Front Runners. The normal version, Focus, also activates every time but doesn’t guarantee a Strong Start.
RP Use
If you’re close to the promotion threshold but not quite there, burn through your RP reserves to get a favorable matchup that pushes you over the line.
Aces
Your aces sit in the top slots for each race category in the “Edit Team” menu. They’re your best shot at winning, and they get an “ace bonus” that boosts all scores.
Stamina
Know how much stamina your umas need for each race distance. Stamina is key—too little, and it tanks your Speed and Power.
