Two limited S-rank characters, a full island theme park, a second Porsche collaboration wave, and a packed mid-version event calendar all land in the same patch.

The stream was the usual NTE special program format: story first, kits second, systems and events after that, then banners, codes, and a light look ahead. Here is everything that was actually shown.

Blackbird finally leaves the shop counter

Blackbird has been the crow-themed witch at Bridge Crossings since launch, handing out fortune readings and collecting Oracle Stones. In 1.4 she becomes playable as an S-rank Psyche main DPS with the Instant Cycle combat trait.

Her Esper ability, Naenia Merula, plants suggestions through words. In combat that becomes a two-form kit:

  • Basic attacks chain up to five hits. Holding the attack slows the target.
  • Her Redirect skill marks enemies with Forsaken Feather. When a teammate hits that mark, Blackbird fires a coordinated Forsaken Bird attack for area Psyche damage.
  • Her Ultimate transforms her into the Witch of Deliverance (also called Witch of Salvation in some summaries). She switches to a flame-wreathed moveset, deals heavy Psyche damage, and buffs the whole team's attack.

She can also turn into a crow for high-speed overworld flight. That exploration tool is as much a character beat as a traversal perk.

Her signature Arc is Crime and Punishment (S-rank, Gas). Phase 1 also brings Lacrimosa's signature Arc, The Last Rose, back into the shop.

Akane Rin takes the stage in the second half

Akane Rin is the vocalist of Nekotori!!!! and works at the live house Star Sign. She is an S-rank Lakshana attacker who fights with sound blades from an electric guitar. Normal attacks charge String Sound. Her enhanced skill hits hard on a single target and applies Harmonize so follow-up hits deal extra damage. In the open world she can start a street live almost anywhere.

Her signature Arc is Far Side of the Moon (S-rank, Liquid).

Official art already makes the contrast clear: Blackbird is gothic and crow-coded, Akane is a bright band-girl with a star-covered guitar.

The same patch also lines up several new outfits, including Blackbird's Wandering Stars, Rouge et Noir, and Unfazed Denim, plus Akane's Shining Idol, Cozy Velvet, Off the Clock, and Full Metal Rock. Haniel, Baicang, and Sakiri get new looks as well (Classroom Hijinks, Master Slacker, Gingerbear Biscuit). Some of those skins sit behind the new City Tycoon Puka Membership track.

Two stories, two tones

Version 1.4 splits its narrative across both banner phases.

The first-half main episode, For Whom the Verses Mourn, sends Esper Zero and Blackbird to St. Arbor (Saint Albo Village in Japanese materials). A mysterious letter arrives at the witch house. The new location is a European-style anomaly zone with withered trees, hanging scarecrows, and a much darker atmosphere than Hethereau's city streets. Completing the episode pays out the usual story rewards.

The second-half spin-off, To Us, Back Then, continues the earlier band side story. It plays out around Clement Academy's centennial / founding festival and follows how Nekotori!!!! comes together. The academy gets a festival makeover, and the stream teased original music with a very school festival anthem energy.

New Anomaly Commissions also arrive in Hethereau and Pukaland after the patch. The ones mentioned on stream include shrinking to escape kittens and chasing a ghost bus.

Pukaland actually opens

The island amusement park teased in earlier versions is no longer a skyline prop. Pukaland opens on September 30 as its own destination, split into four zones with more than ten attractions.

Confirmed ride types include a coin-collecting roller coaster, a maze with randomized start points, a first-person haunted house, and a freefall candy-shooting gag. Day and night lighting differ. Illuminations and fireworks run after dark. Mini-games pay Puka Stars, which exchange for souvenirs, a Puca Ship, gliders, titles, and gemstones. A Puca Guide booklet tracks collection progress.

The park is the hub for the version-long Pukaland Travelogue event (September 30 to November 11).

Banner calendar

Phase 1 runs September 30 to October 21:

  • Limited board Foretold Finale: Blackbird
  • Rerun board Fading Reverie: Lacrimosa

Phase 2 runs October 21 to November 11:

  • Limited board Dazzling Star / First Star: Akane Rin

Each limited banner has milestone cosmetics at 50, 120, and 200 pulls (glider, livery or outfit, vehicle skin). Special Issue Arc Research programs share pull counts across the version.

Porsche collaboration, round two

The second Porsche drop adds the 911 Turbo (930) and the Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package. Both come from Mystery Box events (or the dealership, at a steep Fon cost: one of the cars is around 15 million Fons). The original 918 Spyder box returns with pity carried over. Collect all three and the Porsche Club unlocks extra paints and parts.

Events and modes

The calendar is dense even by NTE standards:

  • Coal Lump's Treasure (October 8 to November 11): wave-defense PvE that protects Coal Lump's collection.
  • Snap! Golden Crackshot (from October 21): 1v1 quick-draw PvP, including a gingerbread form variant in Japanese coverage.
  • Puka Lucky Flip (from October 29).
  • Beyond the Rails: Sunset Circle (October 8 to October 22).
  • A limited 1,000-floor tower with a challenge every 10 floors and buff choices as you climb.
  • Stamina Recharge, Pixel Surge, and Gold Clash windows stacked through October and early November.

Going, Going, Gone! gets new collectibles and adds Blackbird as an auction assistant.

Systems that stick around after the festival

The Puka Membership Program is the new City Tycoon track. Leveling it grants permanent rewards, including S-rank selector boxes at levels 15 and 40, extra skins, and better Project Million efficiency.

Other quality-of-life changes:

  • Hunter Supplies (battle pass) cap rises and later-level rewards improve.
  • Volley Star gets multiplayer support.
  • Photo Mode's drone camera gains a follow-cam / tracking shot.
  • Friend recommendations.
  • Bond Gifts can be sent in one tap, and Handwritten Letters can auto-redeem to max a bond.
  • Lingering on a character screen replays their pull animation.
  • Deco Parts let you add accessories independently of full outfits.
