SEGA and Atlus just announced that Persona 5: The Phantom X, a new free-to-play game in the Persona series, is hitting the world stage on June 26, 2025. It’s already been out in China since April 2024 through Perfect World Games.

What’s Persona 5: The Phantom X About?

The game’s set in a Tokyo where people’s desires have gone poof. It keeps the Persona 5 roots but does its own thing with a fresh story. You play as a new main character juggling school during the day and diving into mind-bending dungeons at night.

Persona5 The Phantom X 1

A new crew of Phantom Thieves takes the spotlight, each with their own backstories and Personas. Fan-favorites like Joker and the OG Thieves pop up through special in-game deals.

Persona5 The Phantom X 4

The gameplay sticks to what makes modern Persona games great: turn-based battles, managing your daily schedule, and building relationships. You’ll balance part-time gigs and school clubs with dungeon crawls and fights.

Persona5 The Phantom X 3

There’s also new stuff like The Velvet Trials, a PvE combat mode, and a Synergy System for extra side stories written by Atlus. These let you deepen ties with both new and familiar characters. You’ll get NPC events and other side content too.
