SpiralAI has officially announced RyzaChat:AI: Create Your Own Summer Dream Story with Ryza (full Japanese title: RyzaChat:AIライザと創るあなただけのひと夏の夢物語), a free-scenario AI chat RPG based on the popular Atelier Ryza series. Developed under license from Koei Tecmo Games (Gust brand), the smartphone app for iOS and Android is scheduled for release in August 2026, with pre-registration now open.
Gameplay and Features
Set on Kurken Island from Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness and the Secret Hideout, the game lets players advance exploration, alchemy (synthesis), combat, shop management, construction, and more solely through conversation with Ryza. There are no traditional command menus or fixed branching paths. Players simply talk about what they want to do, such as gathering materials in the forest, learning a new recipe, opening a shop, or adventuring with friends, and the story unfolds accordingly as a personal summer experience. Ryza’s expressions and gestures change in response to the dialogue.
Two main modes are available. RPG mode focuses on progressing the story, quests, and adventure elements. Chat (or casual conversation) mode allows relaxed time spent with Ryza without structured goals. Quests generate dynamically based on progress, starting with an initial task like building a boat to unlock the full world map. Inventory, stamina, and in-game currency (“Call”) are managed through conversation as well. Original series characters appear, and the map and settings remain faithful to the source material under Gust supervision.
Emphasis on Creator Respect
The project stands out for its deliberate approach to generative AI. SpiralAI uses its own SpiralLLM for text dialogue, trained only on authorized Atelier Ryza scenarios, settings, and legally permitted data. User conversations are not fed back into the model for further training, prioritizing privacy. Voice synthesis relies on dedicated new recordings by original voice actress Yuri Noguchi (Noguchi Yuri), processed with SpiralAI’s proprietary technology.
Critically, no image generation AI or video generation AI is used at all. All visual assets for Ryza are created by human hands under the supervision of the original illustrator Toridamono. The company has outlined clear principles: art and visuals by people, voice from the original performer plus custom synthesis, text via their own model, fidelity to the original world, and revenue returned to creators.
Sales revenue is shared as royalties with illustrators, voice actors, and the original IP holders according to the assets used. SpiralAI describes this as a way to grow AI character experiences together with the creators rather than at their expense.

SpiralAI, founded in 2023 and led by CEO Yuichi Sasaki, develops large language model-based services. The company has positioned the title as a combination of Japan’s RPG-making expertise and its own AI technology, aiming for a high-quality AI × RPG experience.
