With Terminator: Dark Fate set to hit theaters on the 1st of November, we are seeing tons of tie-ins popping up at the moment. Both Mortal Kombat and Gears of War are getting some evil machine content, and now, it’s been announced that the movie is getting its own game on mobile. Titled Terminator: Dark Fate – The Game, this new game will launch on the same day as the movie for both Android and iOS.
According to a report from Venturebeat, Terminator: Dark Fate – The Game is the result of a partnership between Skydance Media, Camel Games, and Firefly Games. It is a free-to-play MMO thin which you will build a resistance base and establish alliances with other players to combat Skynet.
Of course, as is common for any tie-in product, you’ll have the chance to encounter many characters from the movie as you progress through the game. They'll provide you advice and assistance as you expand your base, research new technology, and level up units to increase their powers.
Another thing to expect is IAPs, and to be honest, they look rather worrying as you can spend real money to buy pretty much everything from energy, resources, equipment, buffs, and speed-ups. Though the developers promise that there will be no pay-to-win, however, we’ll have to wait until it actually launches to see for yourself.
This won't be the first strategy game for mobile with a Terminator theme either. A couple of years back, Plarium launched Terminator Genisys: Future War, which is another mobile strategy game that uses assets from the classic action movie franchise starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. That game attracted more than 1 million downloads on Google Play and currently has a solid rating of 4.5/5 stars, so it’s another game that you can check out while waiting for Dark Fate.
As mentioned, Terminator: Dark Fate – The Game is expected to launch on November 1st on both Google Play and the App Store, though there is no listing on either store just yet. Stay tuned for more updates!
