Ashveil is a brand new 5-star Lightning character on the Hunt path released in Honkai Star Rail version 4.1. He specializes in marking a single enemy as Bait, reducing all enemies' DEF while the mark is active, and triggering powerful follow-up attacks whenever allies hit that target.
His kit revolves around Charge management and Gluttony stacks. Every time allies attack the Bait, Ashveil consumes one Charge to launch a Lightning follow-up attack and gain Gluttony. His Ultimate then spends those Gluttony stacks for massive multi-hit damage bursts and can chain to new targets on kills.

Best Team Compositions
Hypercarry (Recommended)
Ashveil • Sunday • Tribbie • Aventurine / Permansor Terrae
Sunday provides energy, crit buffs, and action advance. Tribbie adds RES PEN and follow-up synergy. Sustain keeps the team alive while their summons and attacks trigger Ashveil's follow-ups constantly.
Follow-Up Synergy
Ashveil • Feixiao • Robin • Aventurine
Multiple follow-up attackers stack Gluttony extremely fast. Robin's team-wide buffs amplify everything. Excellent for pure damage output.
F2P Friendly
Ashveil • Herta • March 7th • Lynx / Gallagher
Herta and March 7th both trigger follow-ups naturally. Cheap, accessible, and surprisingly strong for early game clears.
Playstyle and Rotation Tips
- Use Technique before combat to daze enemies and gain 1 Charge.
- Start battle with Skill on the highest priority target to apply Bait and reduce enemy DEF.
- Let allies attack the Bait to trigger Ashveil's follow-up attacks and build Gluttony.
- Use Ultimate when Gluttony is at 4+ stacks for massive damage and potential kill-chaining to new Bait targets.
- Re-apply Skill only when Bait expires or you want to switch targets (refunds 1 SP if already marked).
- Keep SPD high so Ashveil acts early and maintains Charge economy.
Tip: Ashveil shines in content with multiple enemy waves because his Ultimate can chain kills automatically.
