In Umamusume Pretty Derby, new characters and support cards drop via Spotlight Banners—these are short-term events where you get better odds on the spotlighted uma. But pulling them takes a bunch of Carats, so it's smart to plan ahead for the next banners and stash your Carats.
Note: The dates given for banner releases are estimates, and Cygames can and has altered the projected release schedule.
Maruzensky (Summer): Late October 2025
Maruzensky (Summer), the Mile Runner Queen, is a top-notch Front Runner for Mile races. Her special move, A Kiss for Courage, boosts speed for 5 seconds if she's leading in the second half after using a recovery skill. That long boost should give her a solid edge in the final push, making it a strong addition.
She's got perfect stats for a Front Runner: +15% Speed and +15% Wit. Key built-in skills: Corner Recovery, Moxie, Triple 7s, Restless, and Mile Maven. She's not essential, but she's killer for your Mile squad. Plus, the banner comes with Special Week (Summer), a strong pick for Medium or Long races if you snag her.
Mejiro Dober: Early January 2026
Mejiro Dober is like the perfect parent for Late Surgers and End Closers, just as Seiun Sky is for Front Runners—great for inheriting her unique skill. Beyond the Other Side ramps up acceleration on the final corner for an early jump in the sprint. She also has All-Seeing Eyes, which drains 3% Stamina at Potential Level 3, perfect for debuff setups. She's suited for Mile and Medium races, with +20% Wit and +10% Speed.
Kitasan Black (SSR): Early January 2026
SSR Kitasan Black is still the top Speed support card for your deck. Her events give plenty of Energy and Mood boosts, and they can trigger Practice Perfect. She hands out Professor of Curvature, a rare skill that's awesome on most tracks thanks to its 5-second length.
If you missed getting her to MLB on her first banner, now's your chance. The banner also features SSR El Condor Pasa, a great Power card.
Oguri Cap (Christmas): Late January 2026
The Christmas version of Oguri Cap is one of the strongest characters in Umamusume Pretty Derby for Mile, Medium, and Long races. She gets +15% Speed and +15% Stamina in training. Her skills pack recovery moves like Shake It Out, A Small Breather, Gourmand, and Triple 7s.
But her real powerhouse is the unique skill Christmas Eve Miracle Run!, which kicks in during the second half after three recoveries, boosting speed and acceleration for 5 seconds to blast ahead in the final stretch. If you've got a solid support deck, she's a definite pull.
Riko Kashimoto (SSR): Late February 2026
Similar to SSR Tazuna Hayakawa, SSR Riko Kashimoto is a Pal support card. She's super strong for the coming Aoharu Hai scenario thanks to her special events and rewards tied to it. Aoharu Hai offers bigger stat gains than URA Finale, and they stack with Riko's own bonuses.
Beyond that, she brings Mood and Energy boosts, plus skills like Rushing Gale!, Lone Wolf, and Sympathy. The banner also has SSR Rice Shower, a solid Power card with nice training perks and skills.
