It might sound wild to complain about defibrillators needing balance tweaks, but some Battlefield 6 players think this tool is way too powerful for reasons beyond just reviving teammates.
Weird Metas in Battlefield History
The Battlefield series has seen some oddball strategies over the years. If you played BF3, you probably remember the slug shotgun with an 8x scope—totally absurd but ridiculously strong. The craziest tactics in Battlefield often end up being the most broken.
Clips of players wiping out entire squads with defibrillators are hilarious, but there’s a real argument that this tool is overpowered in the beta.
Why Players Want Defibrillator Nerfs
Defibrillators killing enemies isn’t new to the series, and they’re not the only quirky weapon. The engineer’s torch can also take out players, but it’s way slower than defibs.
A player named Balance pointed out that reviving in BF6 is super quick—2-3 times faster than in older games. You can spam revives with barely any downtime and unlimited charges. Even crazier, using defibs to attack is faster than regular melee swings.
Defibrillators Outshine Melee Weapons
Here’s the kicker: defibs are a one-hit kill. Streamers like Lirik have spent hours mowing down teams with them, and Lirik even begged the devs not to nerf them so he can keep racking up funny clips in the full game.
The problem? Defibs make regular melee weapons pointless. A knife does just 35 damage from the front and is slower than a defib zap. Even backstab knife kills, which can one-shot and nab you those sweet dog tags, take forever compared to a quick defib hit.
Balancing Act Before Launch
It’s unclear if the devs are looking at defibrillators for balance changes, but there’s a solid case they’re too strong. That said, with over 800,000 pre-orders on Steam alone, BF6 is probably gonna do just fine, even if defibs are a bit nuts at launch.
