Bandai Namco dropped fresh details on Code Vein II, plus a new story trailer in Japanese. Keep in mind the terms and names below are not official in English yet, so spellings could be off.
They introduced two new characters connected to the hub area. Iris Magmel is a vampire who works for Ravinia. She helps Luu and the player by researching and creating gear that boosts vampire powers. Yadviga runs trade in Magmel. She sells items and handles upgrades for weapons and Jails. Her band of followers works as traveling merchants.
Magmel acts as the protagonist's main base for exploring the present and the past. This underground setup includes a forge, shops, a hot spring, and a training spot. The hot spring lets players tweak their character's appearance and sometimes unlocks fresh crafting recipes. The training area is for testing weapons, Jails, and abilities.
Players can strengthen bonds with companions by exploring together and completing special requests. Finishing these builds relationships, changes how characters react, and hands out unique items. Some characters take gift items found during exploration, which raise affinity and can be swapped for gear or materials.
Two Jail blood-weapon systems got spotlighted. Stinger fires a scorpion-like tail straight ahead to stab distant enemies. Ivy calls blades up from the ground to hit enemies and drain their blood.
About Code Vein II
The sequel features Luna Rapacis, a force that turns Revenants into Horrors. You play as a Revenant Hunter out to rewrite fate. Lou, a girl who jumps through time, guides you on trips between the present and the past. New characters Lavinia and Josee take big roles.
Code Vein II expands on the original's partner combat and Blood Code systems with fresh mechanics. Rune Blades and Dual Swords join the lineup with one-handed swords, bayonets, halberds, and great hammers. The new Jail system powers up blood-draining attacks with more abilities.
Companions get sealed inside the protagonist as a heart-shaped core. Summon them to fight by your side or channel them through the new Assimilation system to ramp up the Hunter's power.
You can summon a motorcycle, a spell-powered ride built for highways and open roads. Partners can hop on and ride with you.
Code Vein II launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on January 30, 2026.
