After 8 long years of waiting, CD Projekt RED's Cyberpunk 2077 has finally been released. Just like the studio's previous game Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077 is a massive open-world game - with tons of things to explore... which means the game is a huge time commitment.
This is why you should check out these 10 tips before playing - otherwise you might randomly skip something you don't want to miss. There would be no spoilers, of course
1 - Backstories don't matter too much in the long run
They would only affect your starting location and some of the dialogue options you can make... after 30 min or an hour, you would get to the actual start of the game. Pick Corpo for the most romance options.
2 - Focus on one or two attributes
Plan out your build and level up your stats accordingly. There are 2 ways to engage in combat - loud and stealth. They are further divided into sub-divisions, based on the weapons you want to use.
3 - Get either Body or Technical Ability to open doors
Both of these attributes are highly useful when exploring Night City. While Body would let you physically force doors opens, Technical ability would let you hack them. They also have other benefits as well.
4 - Explore the world for side quests
Similar to Witcher 3, or any other big RPG for that matter, side quests are the main "meat" of Cyberpunk 2077's content. Don't just blindly follow the main narrative - go around and explore. Doing more side quests would unlock better endings.

5 - Don't always use fast travel
By moving around manually, you might come across various random events that might give valuable bonuses.
6 - Doing "Gigs" is the fastest way to get cash
You would need money in this game for cars and upgrades... and the quickest way to get them is through "gigs" from "fixers" (quest givers). Each gig would last for 10 or 20 minutes.
7 - Loot everything you see
This is literally the same as the witcher 3 - the owner would not care if you pick up everything in the building. Loot them all then either sell or use... you might even discover secrets and such.
8 - It is possible to fail side quests
Some side quests would not allow you to re-do them... just be careful and save the game in advance if you expect something tricky.
9 - Choices matter in this game
No two playthroughs will be the same - choices in Cyberpunk 2077 are not "cosmetics only " - they would affect how the mission plays out. For example, if a side quest directs you toward a character before entering... you might be able to unlock something new if you just don't speak to that character.
10 - Save constantly
There are a lot of options in this game - you might want to go on another path after picking a disappointing choice... and this is where the saves come into play. It is best to save before entering an area or talking to a quest character.
