Recently, Minecraft released its 1.21 update, introducing three new Enchantments among other content. One of these is Density, exclusive to mace weapons. In this guide, let's find out how to get Density Enchantment in Minecraft as well as the way to use it.
How to Get Density Enchantment in Minecraft
In Minecraft, you can get the Density Enchantment by using an Enchanting Table, looking for an Enchanted Book in the Ominous Vaults, or trading with a librarian villager for the same book.
Using an Enchanting Table
To use the first method of getting the Density Enchantment in Minecraft, follow these steps:
- Craft an Enchanting Table (level 30 is required.)
- Place a mace and Lapis Lazuli on the table to apply the enchantment.
- For the highest level of enchantment, craft 15 Bookshelves and arrange them around the table, keeping them two blocks away.
Finding an Enchanted Book
Another way is to use an Enchanted Book to enchant your mace, though these books are rare and may not always have the Density Enchantment. You can get Enchanted Books by opening Ominous Vaults using the Ominous Trial Key. Note that not all vaults contain Enchanted Books, so you may need to try multiple times to find one.
How to Use Density Enchantment in Minecraft
The Density Enchantment in Minecraft is rare and can enhance the damage of a mace per block. It has five levels, each increasing damage by 0.5. For instance, Density I adds 0.5 damage, while Density V adds 2.5 damage per block.
Density Level | Damage/Block Fallen |
I | 0.5 (Heart × 0.25) |
II | 1 (Heart × 0.5) |
III | 1.5 (Heart × 0.75) |
IV | 2 (Heart) |
V | 2.5 (Heart × 1.25) |
In general, melee weapons, especially maces, deal increased damage when attacking from a height. This damage escalates with each block fallen if the mace is enchanted with Density. For instance, jumping from 10 blocks high with a Density V enchanted mace could add an additional 250 damage, on top of the mace's base damage.
The last thing to keep in mind: The Density Enchantment cannot be combined with Smite, Breach, or Bane of Arthropods enchantments.
