A crew of 4 is required for the Prison Break heist to be a success – you would probably need 2 more people if you have just come from Fleeca. The heist would not be available until Lester call you and inform you about it. In this GTA 5 Online Prison Break Heist guide, we would walk you step by step through the job.
The setup cost for this job is $40000. You would have to rescue Maxim Rashkovsky, a rich man who’s trying to escape from jail. There are 4 setup jobs before the finale that you can complete in any order.
GTA 5 Online Prison Break Heist Guide 1 - Plane setup
The first setup mission is to steal a plane. One player would be the pilot while the other three would be the ground team, clear up any hostiles on the way. This section is pretty straightforward - the three members of the ground team must stay together - it is best for them to drive in the same car. Drive to the McKenzie airfield - once you arrive, clear out all the enemies in the vicinity and send the pilot into the aircraft. The needed plane is in a hangar at the top of the runway.
Once the pilot is inside, the ground team would need to clear the runway out of any cars so that it could take off. Fly the plane to the south airport on the map and get paid. You would be teleported back into the game afterward
GTA 5 Online Prison Break Heist Guide 2 - Bus setup
You don't need to set up any teams in this phase - just use the GPS to locate the bus. When you found it, just shoot the driver and take the bus. Prepare a homing rocket for the escort chopper of the bus.
The next step is to escape from the cop. The bus is slow, so the best way to do this is to go off-road, get away from any blacktop and stay in the middle of a field. Afterward, deliver the bus to the dropoff location. Try to avoid every patrol car in the process.
GTA 5 Online Prison Break Heist Guide 3 - Station setup
This is a tough quest. You have to divide your squad into 2 teams and attack the Cop Station and Cargo Ship simultaneously.
The Cop Station team, dressed in police uniform, would need to steal a patrol car and drive into the station to steal some files from the local cops. Just call the police on your phone - when they arrive, kill them, get into the car, and drive away. Just wait for a little to get rid of your wanted rating.
Go to the police station, park on the yellow marker, and get inside. Don’t do anything suspicious – just get out of the car and walk into the back of the building and pick up the police bus schedule. Get back outside and drive away.
Now you need to take the police cruiser to an underpass and torch it with petrol – afterward, take the schedule back to the planning room.
While the Cop Station team is grabbing the document, the Cargo Ship team needs to steal a car from a ship. Just killing everyone on board then shoot a container to reveal the car. The job will end after the Cargo team drives away.
GTA 5 Online Prison Break Heist Guide 4 - Wet Work
In this phase, you need to divide your squad into 2 teams, one for the City Hall and one for the Mansion. The City hall team follow the marker to a rooftop vantage point. On that location, you have to snipe the two lawyers after they have driven up the City Hall steps. Try to get them both simultaneously. The next part is to grab the briefcase – you should use a fast sports car to do this. One person runs out, grabs the thing, get back in then drive away. Lose the cops and deliver the papers to the planning room.
The Mansion team would infiltrate the location and kill everyone, including the guards and the target.

The Prisoner and the Prison Officer leave together to fetch the bus you stole in the set-up, while the Pilot and Demolition split up. As the Prisoner and Prison Officer approach the prison in the bus, Pilot takes off in a prop plane and Demolition steals a Buzzard attack chopper.
Park, move inside and engage when the guard with the Shotgun as you to stop. Make your way to Rashkovsky – once the alarm goes off, NOOSE agents would swarm the central prison courtyard. Kill the NOOSE agents and clear the way for Rashkovsky to move out.
At this time, the Pilot would get attacked by multiple military jets. Take them down with the Buzzard chopper. After the Prisoner, Prison Officer and Rashkovsky arrive at the gate, get into an armored car and drive to the designated airfield. Demolition and the chopper would need to protect the jailbreak team at this point – they are getting chased with a 5 star wanted ratings.
The Pilot needs to land on the airfield and pick up Rashkovsky. Afterward – everyone would have to protect the plane until it gets to the designated position to escape. Afterward, everyone would jump out automatically onto a beach for the Demolition to pick up and flies back toward the city.
