Adamantite Ingots are essential for crafting some of the strongest weapons, tools, and armor in Hytale, surpassing iron and even competing with higher tiers like mithril in certain gear. To obtain them, you must mine Adamantite Ore from dangerous late-game biomes and smelt it in a furnace.
Prerequisites Before Hunting
Before venturing out, prepare properly to survive the hostile environments:
- Pickaxe: Iron Pickaxe or higher (essential for mining Adamantite Ore).
- Weapons and Armor: At minimum, a Copper one-handed weapon with a shield and a bow for ranged attacks. Full Thorium gear is highly recommended for the Devastated Lands' aggressive mobs.
- Mobility: A horse for fast traversal across islands and water.
- Supplies: Cooked meat or better food for health regen, a Teleporter linked to your base, and torches for caves.
- Storage: Place a temporary chest near farming spots to avoid losing ore on death.
Step 1: Travel to the Devastated Lands (Zone 4)
Adamantite Ore primarily spawns in the Devastated Lands, the fourth world zone. This biome features volcanic islands scattered in open ocean areas, identifiable on your map by:
- Dark purple or red blocks.
- Lava flows and cinder-covered terrain (Cinder Waste sub-biome).
These islands can appear anywhere but are more common near Winter Frontiers (snowy regions). No boat is needed; swim, dash with a charged sword attack, or ride a horse across water.
Step 2: Locate and Mine Adamantite Ore
Once on the islands, focus your search on:
- Surface veins: Bright red crystal-like formations near lava pools and rocky outcrops.
- Shallow caves: Underground caverns just below the surface, often exposed.
- Ruined settlements: Check chests for rare Adamantite Ore drops alongside other loot.
The ore stands out as vibrant red against the dark volcanic rock. Mine exposed veins quickly, as mobs spawn frequently. Expect random spawns, so explore thoroughly.
Step 3: Smelt Ore into Ingots
Return to your base (or a forward outpost) and use a Furnace:
- Fuel the furnace with coal or wood.
- Place Adamantite Ore in the top slot.
- Wait for it to smelt into Adamantite Ingots (1 ore = 1 ingot).
Prioritize smelting in bulk for efficient crafting sessions.
Best Farming Tips
- Efficiency: Stick to surface scouring in Cinder Waste; avoid deep mining unless veins are visible.
- Safety: Fight or flee mobs; use your horse to kite enemies. Set up teleporters liberally.
- Bonus Loot: Grab nearby Cobalt, Copper, or Iron ores while farming. Chests in ruins can yield ingots directly (rare).
- Scaling Up: For mass production, establish a mining outpost with furnaces and defenses.
- Gear Priority: Craft Adamantite weapons first (e.g., Sword: 11 Ingots + Heavy Leather), then tools and armor. Pair with Heavy Leather (from bears, tanned) and Cindercloth Scraps (mob drops).
| Item | Materials Needed (Example) |
|---|---|
| Adamantite Sword | 11 Adamantite Ingots + Heavy Leather |
| Adamantite Pickaxe | Adamantite Ingots + Handle |
| Adamantite Armor Set | Multiple Ingots + Leather/Treated Leather |
