This new Battlefield is coming out swinging with fresh maps and game modes for players to jump into right at launch. Here’s the lowdown on what maps and modes you’ll get to mess around with in Battlefield 6.

Battlefield 6 Maps

The game’s got a solid lineup of modes, including the Portal mode carried over from Battlefield 2042. Here’s what you’re working with:

Portal

Portal lets you take the reins and mess with the game world by moving, resizing, or copying objects. You can build your own game mode, tweak the interface, and even script NPCs for custom multiplayer setups. If your creation slaps, it might even become an official mode in Battlefield 6.

Conquest

Conquest is the classic all-out chaos where tanks, jets, and choppers flip the battlefield upside down. Two teams scrap to capture and hold control points across the map. You drain the enemy’s lives by holding points and taking them out. When their lives hit zero, it’s game over. Teamwork makes the dream work here.

Breakthrough

In Breakthrough, the map’s split into sectors, and teams fight over them one by one. Attackers push forward; defenders dig in. To claim a sector, attackers need to hold all its control points at once. Attackers have limited lives, so coordination is everything. The fight keeps going until attackers take every sector or run out of steam.

Rush

Rush is all about arming and defusing. Attackers try to plant bombs on Military Communication systems (M-COMs) while defenders work to stop them or defuse the explosives. Once all M-COMs in a sector are blown up, the fight moves to the next one. The game ends when all M-COMs are toast or attackers run out of lives.

Battlefield 6 Modes Outside All-Out Warfare

On top of the big modes, Battlefield 6 is rolling out five smaller-scale ones, including a mix of old-school FPS-inspired modes and a fresh one called Escalation. These are built around Battlefield’s core: classes, squad play, and tons of destruction.

Squad Deathmatch

Grab your squad and a gun for a quick, in-your-face deathmatch. Four squads go head-to-head, and the first to hit the kill target wins.

Domination

This is a fast, infantry-only fight for control points. Hold objectives to rack up points, and the first team to hit the score limit takes it.

Team Deathmatch

Straight-up, high-energy combat with no objectives other than wiping out the enemy team. Most kills wins.

King of the Hill

Get to the control point and lock it down. It’s a fast, close-quarters fight where points shift, so you’ve got to stay sharp and work together.

Escalation

A new spin on Battlefield’s core gameplay. It starts tactical but ramps up fast. Two teams battle for strategic control points, and as they claim territory, fewer points are left, making fights tighter and crazier. It all builds to a final, all-out brawl for the last control points.

The mode lineup in Battlefield 6 feels familiar if you’ve played Battlefield 2042 or Battlefield V, with Conquest and Breakthrough still stealing the show for most players. That said, smaller modes like King of the Hill, Domination, and others will still see plenty of action.
