Season 2 of Marvel Rivals is almost here, and it’s bringing some cool new stuff! The trailer dropped hints about two newbies, Emma Frost and Ultron, joining the crew. And guess what? New characters mean new team-up moves! Let’s check out what’s shaking up the team-up abilities in Season 2.

New Team-Up Abilities

Mystic Burst – Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch

This magical twosome is about to level up! Doctor Strange, the big shot Team-Up Anchor, gets a sweet 100 extra health. Scarlet Witch scores a slick new Mystic Burst move by teaming up with him.

Stellar Impact – Captain America and Winter Soldier

The OG bromance is getting a boost! Cap, as the Team-Up Anchor, snags 100 more health and a 5% damage bump. Winter Soldier gets to unleash the badass Stellar Impact move when he rolls with Cap.

Mental Projection – Emma Frost, Psylocke, and Magneto

Say hey to Season 2’s star, Emma Frost, who’s stealing the show with Mental Projection! She’s the Team-Up Anchor, grabbing 100 extra health. Hook her up with Psylocke or Magneto, and they both get the Mental Projection power.

While Season 2’s tossing in some fresh team-up vibes, a couple are hitting the road:

Magnetic Force – Magneto and Scarlet Witch

Voltaic Union – Thor, Storm, and Cap

Updated Team-Up Abilities

Some team-up combos are getting a remix in Season 2:

  • Gamma Charge – Used to be Hulk, Doctor Strange, and Iron Man; now it’s Hulk, Iron Man, and Namor.
  • Ammo Overload – Was Rocket Raccoon, Punisher, and Winter Soldier; Winter Soldier’s out.
  • Chilling Charisma – Had Luna Snow, Namor, and Invisible Woman; Namor’s gone.
  • Dimensional Shortcut – Rocked Magik, Black Panther, and Psylocke; Psylocke’s outta there.

Creative Director Guangguang and Lead Combat Designer Zhiyong spilled that Season 2: Hellfire Gala is bringing rank resets and map switches. If you’re in the One Above All or Eternity ranks, you’re stuck duo queuing from now on. It’s a classic move tons of esports games use, and the devs say it’s all about tightening up balance at the top tiers.
