In a feat of extreme modding, Argentine modder @OptiJogos has transformed the massive 120 GB Grand Theft Auto V into a tiny 2.5 GB package, perfect for the most underpowered computers imaginable.

The mod achieves this drastic reduction by ruthlessly stripping away 98% of the game's content. Gone are all missions, audio assets, large portions of the Los Santos map, and intricate environmental details. What remains is a skeletal version of GTA 5 that surprisingly still boots up and lets players roam a glitchy, barren world.
PS1-Era Graphics and Glitchy Gameplay
Visually, the mod resembles a PlayStation 1 title smudged through a low-resolution filter. Characters appear as low-poly blobs with flat, textureless models; the protagonist looks like a faceless doll in a hoodie. Roads blend into buildings, pedestrians are barely recognizable, and everything clips wildly. Frame rates hover around 7 FPS on decent hardware but climb above 20 FPS on a 2015-era "government netbook" as demonstrated by the creator.

What's Still Playable?
Despite the cuts, core mechanics persist in a broken form:
- Free movement around the remaining map sections
- Driving vehicles (with unpredictable handling and physics glitches)
- Firing weapons, including RPGs
- Skydiving and basic combat
- Cheats like "painkiller" for god mode
Controls feel laggy and delayed, making precise actions challenging, but it's a testament to GTA 5's robust engine that it runs at all.
Proof-of-Concept, Not for Everyday Play
This isn't a polished low-end optimization mod like those on GTA5-Mods.com. Instead, it's an experimental showcase of how little of GTA 5 is truly essential for basic functionality. Ideal for curious tinkerers or those with minuscule storage/ RAM, but expect a surreal, unfinished experience rather than enjoyable gameplay.
The mod gained massive traction after @SynthPotato shared it in English, sparking discussions on ResetEra and gaming sites worldwide.
