Shift Up just rolled out a fresh update for Stellar Blade on both PS5 and PC, and they’re tossing in some nice freebies to show love to the fans. It’s been over a year since the game first hit the PS5, and it’s still killing it worldwide, especially after jumping to PC recently.
Earlier this month, Shift Up shared that Stellar Blade has moved over three million copies, with a million of those sold in just three days after the PC launch. Despite some chatter about the main character’s look before release, the hack-and-slash adventure has earned solid praise, rocking an 81 average on OpenCritic. Players and critics are stoked about its slick combat and sharp visuals. The team’s keeping the momentum going with regular updates, and this latest one is all about giving back to fans for sticking with Eve’s post-apocalyptic journey.
Free Stuff and New Features
Head to The Last Gulp in Xion to grab seven new versions of existing background music tracks. The update also unlocks Hard Mode right from the start, which works in Boss Challenge mode too. Plus, Stellar Blade items are hitting the Steam Points Shop, and they’ve squashed a bunch of bugs, including one that crashed the game in photo mode.
Nintendo Switch 2 Rumors
Word on the street is Shift Up might be working on a Stellar Blade port for the Nintendo Switch 2, with the team reportedly getting their hands on a dev kit for the new hybrid console. After the game’s huge PC success, it makes sense they’d want to go multiplatform. The Switch 2’s beefier hardware could handle it, but nothing’s confirmed yet, and there’s no release window.
Sequel and New Project
It’s official: a Stellar Blade sequel is in the works, possibly dropping as early as 2026. Shift Up’s also cooking up a new game called Project Spirits, which is said to have RPG vibes and a big open world.
