Sports Classics are GTA Online vehicles that were based on various famous cars in real life. They have both good looks and high performance - which make them the top choices for racing.

In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase the top 10 best sports classics cars in GTA Online 2022.

1. Toreador

The Pegassi Toreador is based on a real-life Lamborghini Marzal. It has the special ability to be converted into a submarine and can be used underwater. Overall, except for the fact that it cannot fly, the car is perfect. It is armed with missiles that turn into torpedoes underwater, machine guns, and superior armor plating that can take a fair bit of punishment.

Its best feature, however, is the Rocket boost that lets the car zip forward for a short distance - perfect to evade enemies' homing missiles. Additionally, the car has an unlimited amount of missiles - players can fire constantly without having to worry about reloading.

2. Turismo Classic

The design of the Grotti Turismo Classic is based on a real life Ferrari F40, Testarossa, 348. It is the only Classic Sport Car to get the HSW upgrade. In the game, players can do an exhibition lap with this car to get a free HSW upgrade.

After HSW, players can reach 150.5 mph on the Grotti Turismo Classic, making it the fastest car in its class.

3. Cheetah Classic

The design of the Grotti Cheetah Classic is based on a real life Ferrari Testarossa, 512 BB. The Cheetah Classic is the older generation of the Cheetah, intended to resemble the 3D Universe renditions of the aforementioned car, given the compact and lightweight design.

Overall, the Cheetah Classic is one of the best of its class, being on par with the Turismo Classic. They both perform well in most Sports Classics races, one can choose between these two vehicles on their personal preference.

4. Ardent

The Ocelot Ardent is a classic two-door coupé based on a real life Lotus Esprit. The Ardent has great acceleration, which provides good speed in a matter of seconds. Handling is good, with little to no sights of understeer or oversteer unless you are going at max speed. Braking is also decent and is able to stop the car within a relatively short distance.

5. Rapid GT Classic

The design of the Dewbauchee Rapid GT Classic is based on a real life Jensen Interceptor III, Aston Martin V8 Vantage. The Rapid GT Classic has decent handling for its class, with sharp turning capabilities that might lead to oversteering at high speed.

Overall, it's fun to drive and is also pretty good-looking, but it's not the first non-weaponized vehicle that comes to mind when you wanna drive a car you haven't used in a while.

6. Retinue Mk II

The design of the Vapid Retinue Mk II is based on a real life Ford Escort Mk. II. It is a variant of the standard Retinue base model. Players can unlock a cheaper Trade Price after completing The Diamond Casino Heist Finale as a leader with this vehicle selected.

Performance-wise, it comes with slightly above average top speed and fairly average acceleration in the sports classics class. However, it is up there as one of the best drift/powerslide cars you can buy on GTA.

7. Stirling GT

The design of the Benefactor Stirling GT is based on a real life Mercedes-Benz 300SL, 300 SLR, Alfa Romeo Disco Volatne, 8C Competizione. While it is originally pretty slow, when upgraded with the PS5/XSX exclusive HSW improvements, the Stirling GT can reach the crazy top speed of 156.80 mph (252.34 km/h).

After The Criminal Enterprises update, all the windows of the vehicle are unbreakable. Therefore, the vehicle's occupants are unable to get shot by normal bullets even when the doors are open or off, the same bug the Kuruma had after the Los Santos Tuners update.

8. Infernus Classic

The design of the Pegassi Infernus Classic is based on a real life Lamborghini Diablo, Cizeta V16T, Ferrari Testarossa. It is one of the most iconic vehicles in the GTA series and has appeared in Grand Theft Auto IV, GTA San Andreas, GTA Vice City, Grand Theft Auto III, GTA Vice City Stories and GTA Liberty City Stories.

The car's boxy yet aerodynamic design pays off in terms of performance. It is very agile and easily maneuverable.

9. Torero

The Torero assumes a design similar to the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City model of the Infernus, sharing the short body and the rear-mid rear configuration. "Torero" means "bullfighter" in Spanish, a clear reference to Lamborghini's logo (a bull) and particularly the Lamborghini Countach, one of the most iconic Lamborghinis of all time, that the Torero is based upon.

Legendary Motorsport's description of the Swinger as a "myth" and that it was merely "blueprints" is a reference to how the XJ13, the car the Swinger is based on, never made it further than being a prototype racing car.
