Rockstar has been adding more and more vehicles to GTA Online with every update. The vehicle-focused nature of the game is why it is liked so much by car enthusiasts. Amongst the GTA car, there is a well-liked unofficial group of cars called JDM or Japanese Domestic Market). These cars are inspired by real-life JDM icons, which were hugely popular back in the 2000s.

They are still a fascination of many automobile enthusiasts in 2022... and GTA 5 and GTA Online make it possible to satisfy these yearnings. In this article, Gurugamer.com is going to showcase the 8 best JDM cars to buy in GTA Online 2022.

1. Annis Elegy RH8

  • Top Speed: 118.50 mph (190.71 km/h)

The design of the Annis Elegy RH8 is based on a real-life Nissan GTR R35. This vehicle is available for free to any player that has a linked account at the Rockstar Social Club website. Much like its real-life counterpart, this car is an absolute beast that can take on other more expensive supercars.

Annis Elegy RH8

The Elegy RH8 has one of the best handlings amongst JDM cars in GTA Online, due to its great traction, even weight distribution, and all-wheel-drive configuration. It can accelerate relatively well from a standstill and reaches a good top speed. Its biggest weakness is braking, which is poor even when compared to some of the SUVs. At least its exceptional handling lessens the need of using brakes.

2. Dinka Jester Classic

  • Top Speed: 119.75 mph (192.72 km/h)

The design of the Dinka Jester Classic is based on a real-life Toyota Supra JZA80 (Mk IV). This car was added to the game as part of the After Hours update, with a crazy list of modifications that players can purchase.

Dinka Jester Classic

Overall, the Jester Classic has balanced statistics to cruise around urban areas, as it has good speed and acceleration, as well as great handling. The strong grip keeps the car controllable at sharp turns and rarely loses control over small bumps and curbs, but has small understeer at higher speeds. Similar to the Elegy, the brake of the Jester is also its biggest weakness.

3. Karin Calico GTF

  • Top Speed: 121.25 mph (195.13 km/h)

The design of the Karin Calico GTF is based on a real-life Toyota Celica. It was included as a part of the Lost Santos Tuners update. The Calico GTF shares very similar characteristics to the Sultan Classic, having phenomenal top speed and acceleration. It can keep up with most supercars in races when fully upgraded.

The AWD drivetrain gives the car explosive acceleration, allowing it to reach top speed in no time at all. This makes the Karin Calico GTF one of the fastest and quickest JDM cars in GTA Online. It is also fairly stable in rain and wet surfaces.

4. Karin Sultan RS

  • Top Speed: 117.25 mph (188.70 km/h)

The design of the Karin Sultan RS is based on a real-life Lexus IS, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI, and Subaru Impreza. It is one of the fastest cars in GTA IV and was added to GTA Online in 2016.

Karin Sultan RS

The Sultan RS improves upon the original Sultan with vastly superior acceleration and a slightly higher top speed, while retaining the all-wheel-drive system. Braking and handling are also significantly improved, enough for the car to be on par with other supers.  The best part about the Sultan, however, is its off-road capability. The lightweight construction and all-wheel-drive system let it climb steep slopes effortlessly.

5. Karin Futo GTX

  • Top Speed: 119.75 mph (192.72 km/h)

The design of the Karin Futo GTX is based on a real-life Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86. It was included as a part of the Los Santos Tuners update.

Karin Futo GTX

Amongst JDM cars in GTA Online, the Futo GTX has good speed and acceleration, but its strong suit is being able to drift around corners with ease. Just try not to hit anything, as the car has weak resistance against collisions. Its wheels can bend from repeated it and might greatly affect handling. The Futo's low grip makes it not favorable in races, as it is easily outclassed by vehicles with more grip.

6. Annis Remus

  • Top Speed: 115.50 mph (185.88 km/h)

The design of the Annis Remus is based on a real-life Nissan Silvia S13. It was included as a part of the Los Santos Tuners update.

Annis Remus

The Remus has acceptable acceleration and a good top speed. Its handling is very stable, with the car having substantial amounts of grip. Its suspension can easily absorb uneven terrain and bumps in the road. Even when driven hard, the Remus tends to have neutral handling (no oversteer or understeer), which makes it a good candidate for street races.

7. Maibatsu Penumbra FF

  • Top Speed: 112.75 mph (181.45 km/h)

The design of the Maibatsu Penumbra FF is based on a real-life 2nd Generation Mitsubishi Eclipse & 2nd Generation Eagle Talon. Fans of Fast & Furious will also recognize the Penumbra FF, as it is the green car that Paul Walker drove in the film. It was added to the game as part of the 1.51 LS Summer Special update in 2020.

Maibatsu Penumbra FF

Overall, the Penumbra FF has decent acceleration due to its AWD system - players can reach high speed pretty quickly from a standstill. However, its top speed is rather low and can be a problem in straight races. Its braking is also poor - players need to take that into account when turning at high speed.

8. Annis ZR350

  • Top Speed: 117.50 mph (189.10 km/h)

The design of the Annis ZR350 is based on a real-life 1992-2002 Mazda RX-7 (FD). It was included as a part of the Los Santos Tuners update.

Annis ZR350

Overall, the ZR350 has good top speed and decent acceleration but is still inferior to other cars in its class. Its poor traction is the biggest problem, as the car is fairly easy to destabilize, especially when exiting a corner. Players need to use brakes before driving over curbs, sidewalks, and uneven terrain to keep the car stable.
