SEGA and Creative Assembly have announced Total War: SHOGUN 2 Complete Edition, an updated package of the 2011 strategy classic. It launches on PC on October 13, 2026 via Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store, and GOG. The asking price is $39.99.
The Complete Edition bundles the base game with every expansion and DLC, including Rise of the Samurai and Fall of the Samurai. Players can wage war across more than 700 years of Japanese history, from the Genpei War to the Boshin War.
Modern upgrades include improved lighting, shadows, and textures. The interface now scales for 1440p and 4K displays and supports ultrawide monitors. Controls have been modernized, and the game receives a 64-bit upgrade.
New content adds more than 50 playable minor factions. Full Japanese and Chinese voice acting and text localization arrive for the first time. Integrated Mod.io support and colorblind accessibility options are also included.
Existing Steam owners receive any missing original DLC at no extra cost, excluding the Blood Pack due to ratings. They can also buy the Complete Edition at a 75 percent loyalty discount for a limited time. After September 28, the original game will no longer be sold separately on Steam. Buyers of the Complete Edition on Steam also receive the original title and its DLC.
The update aims to bring one of the most praised Total War games to modern PCs while keeping its mix of turn-based campaign strategy and real-time battles intact.
