The Genshin Impact 4.6 update is expected to make its way at the end of April. Rumors are circulating about what the major update will bring, including additions like a new Trounce Domain, a fresh weekly world boss, and an unexplored area on the map. While these details are mostly based on leaks and beta testing, if even a part of these rumors turns out to be true, players can expect some significant changes in the upcoming 4.6 update.

New Banners Featuring Arlecchino, Lyney, Wanderer & Baizhu

Genshin Impact fans have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Arlecchino, also known as "The Knave," one of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers. She is expected to debut as a formidable 5-star Pyro character wielding a polearm. It is said that her signature weapon, the rumored 5-star "Crimson Moon’s Semblance," will also be introduced. According to leaks, she is likely to be featured in the first banner during the initial part of this update.

Additionally, Lyney, a 5-star Pyro bow user, is expected to appear in the second banner during the same period. Interestingly, Arlecchino holds a significant role in Lyney's backstory, acting as her "Father" during their time at the House of the Hearth orphanage, where Lyney and her twin Lynette were raised.

Fans have been expecting Arlecchino's prominent feature in the upcoming banners, but the lineup rumored for the second half of the 4.6 update comes as a surprise to many. That is Furina may not be receiving a re-run this time around, possibly because she is no longer considered an Archon.

In the second half of the 4.6 update, players are wishing for the availability of The Wanderer, a 5-star Anemo catalyst user, and Baizhu, a 5-star Dendro catalyst user. Fascinatingly, this will mark the third re-run for both characters. Baizhu's return was possibly hinted at by the introduction of Chenyu Vale in update 4.4. This region in Liyue is known to be the homeland of the snake called Chengshang which coils around Baizhu's shoulders.

Petrichor Island and Bayda Harbor Will Fill the Map

Uncle K claims that a big amorphous map on the map will be filled in the 4.6 update. While some parts will still be blank, the update will add a Fontaine island named Petrichor and a new Sumeru area called Bayda Harbor. These new places will have a weekly boss and a special challenge area called the Arlecchino Trounce Domain. The rest of the area will be an "ancient Khaenri'ah battlefield".  This might be linked to last year's discovery of a supposed "gateway to Khaenri'ah" under Sumeru.

Petrichor Island might also include a vast underground or underwater area called Remuria. This name means "golem" in an ancient language, hinting at the presence of a new golem-like enemy in this underground region. Remuria is described as an ancient civilization similar to ancient Rome, which thrived and declined before modern Fontaine was established. If this area is added to the map, players will have the opportunity to uncover the mysteries surrounding Remuria and its fate after being consumed by the Abyss.

New Weekly Boss Arlecchino & New World Boss Centaur

Since Childe's launch in Liyue back in Genshin Impact 1.1, Fatui Harbingers have been given special weekly Trounce Domains. And, Arlecchino will follow suit. There's speculation that in version 4.6, Arlecchino will appear as a formidable boss with two stages, wielding scythes. The rumored location for this epic battle is none other than Petrichor Island.

In the new area, there will be a big, mechanical centaur as a new world boss. Leaked videos show a battle against this fiery-powered machine with a sword and shield. The sword can shoot out fiery attacks, and the shield has a rock element. The boss's moves include fiery musical notes. Although players don't know much about this creature's backstory, it's believed that defeating it might give the special items needed to strengthen Arlecchino.

New 4-Star Sethos Character

While some rumors hint that there won't be any new 4-star characters in the 4.6 update, another leak, supported by voice lines and information from reliable leaker Mero, implies that 4.6 will bring Chapter 2 of Lupus Aureus, Cyno's story quest. This quest will introduce Sethos, a new 4-star bow user with ties to Cyno, the General Mahamatra of Sumeru's Akademiya. It's uncertain if Sethos is from the Akademiya or the desert like Candace and Dehya.

Sethos is allegedly said to replace Emilie, a Fontaine character often referenced by various characters. Emilie is known as a perfumer and a close friend of Chevreuse. Yet, fans may need to wait for a future update to see Emilie introduced as a playable character.

Two New Artifact Sets

Supposedly, in version 4.6, there will be two new artifact sets introduced. One set is specifically designed for Arlecchino, while the other set focuses on Dendro characters. Typically, 5-star characters like Arlecchino receive custom artifact sets that complement their appearance and strengths. On the other hand, the Dendro set aims to maximize the effects of the Burning reaction caused by the interaction between Pyro and Dendro elements. This information was shared by leaker Litian on Reddit.

Burning Reaction Artifact Set

• 2p: ATK +18%
• 4p: After 3 seconds of fighting, damage dealt is boosted by 50%. If there's no Burning enemy for 6 seconds, the damage bonus drops by 10% each second. When there's a Burning enemy, the bonus rises by 10% each second, reaching up to 50%. This effect also works when the character isn't in battle.

Bond of Life Artifact Set

• 2p: ATK +18%
• 4p: Damage dealt increases by 18% for 6 seconds when the Bond of Life contract value changes, whether increased or decreased. This effect can stack up to three times. It's uncertain if the effect can activate when the character is not actively participating in battle.

New Events And Old Favorites

Arataki Life Rock Rainbow Grand Tour

The upcoming Genshin 4.6 update will feature four events, as leaked. One of these events will take players back to Inazuma, a region that hasn't received new content since Version 4.0 along with Fontaine. Considering the event's name, it's likely to involve Arataki Itto, the 5-star Geo Claymore character and charismatic leader of the Arataki Gang. It seems that the "rock" in question refers to rock music.

Windtrace: The Scheme of a Certain Strategy

This is a version of hide and seek, beloved by fans for its simplicity in earning Primogems and the enjoyable player interactions it offers. This upcoming event marks the 4th return of Windtrace since its debut in version 1.5.

The event took place before Fontaine was accessible, so returning to Patrice's homeland is logical. This event may sound strange to many players. There's some confusion about the title, as some claim that "dragon" should be translated as "saurian." Saurians are creatures native to Natlan, the upcoming region set to be released later this year. It's rumored that the people of Natlan use Saurians as mounts, hinting at a potential new feature that could come out alongside the anticipated 5.0 Natlan update.

Genshin Impact 4.6 Quality of Life Updates 

Among the many rumors spreading, one of the most expected is the possibility of several minor enhancements to improve players' overall gaming experience. Sometimes, even small adjustments can deliver a significant impact. For instance, there's speculation about a potential tweak to the Treasure Compasses. Instead of solely guiding players to chests, they may also display an icon for the chest directly on the mini-map when equipped.

What’s more, a reliable leaker known as TeamMew suggests that a new feature called "Focused Experience Mode" will simplify the completion of multi-step quests by prioritizing the active quest line. In other words, players won't need to concern themselves with finishing other quests that don't directly impact the timeline of the selected quest. For example, if a quest involves Cyno but is only partially completed, players can activate Focused Experience Mode on a different quest line without needing to complete the unfinished quest related to Cyno.

Teapot, a magical item bestowed upon players by Madame Ping is another quality of life update for Genshin Impact 4.6. Decorating the Realm within the Teapot will become more convenient with a "Fast Obtain" option for Genshin furniture, allowing players to inspect and purchase missing pieces of furniture from furniture sets directly as well as eliminating the need to remember to build them later. Besides, once Trust Rank 10 is reached, furniture prices will be discounted, and players will have the option to purchase up to ten items at once.
