Entity Gaming’s Counter-Strike roster has undergone a lot of changes, however, this is probably the biggest one. Simar "Psy" Sethi, part of the original squad of Entity CS:GO, is going to leave, along with Tejas “Ace” Sawant.
This roster overhaul was hinted quite awhile ago, even before ESL 2019’s Finale. Although the team won the tournament in a convincing fashion, Chinmay “PoKI” Mehta and Karan “Excali” Mhaswadkar were let go. Based on various sources, PoKI is likely to get back to his former teammates at Phoenix Esports while Excali is probably going to join U Muma Esports.
Psy was part of Entity Gaming’s original roster since late 2017 – the lineup was formerly known as Mammoth Gaming prior to ROG Masters of that year. Psy has earned a lot of fame and recognition with the squad, as Entity has gathered an impressive array of trophies.
Ace was part of the 2017 lineup of Entity that was let go and replaced by Psy’s squad. He joined Entity once again at the end of November 2019 replacing DeathMaker. The guy is probably part of the reason this lineup was broken down, as Entity Gaming was unable to perform very well during the WESG 2019 Qualifier and NVIDIA Geforce Cup 2019. The second defeat was absolutely humiliating, as they were unable to win a single match.
Today, with 2 more core players departed from the lineup, Anuj “Amaterasu” Sharma is the only one left in the roster. With this, the future for Entity Gaming’s CS squad in India is unclear – the organization is weighing the possibility of moving its operation to the SEA region. The discarded players might rally around Tejas “Ace” Sawant later, under a new banner. We will be reporting more about India's Esports scene in our later articles.
