The sacrifice of Natasha Romanoff - also known as Black Widow in Avengers: Endgame has stolen the tears of millions of viewers. However, maybe we are only the fools with Marvel's trick, as Black Widow could still be alive! That's the rapidly spreading theory right now on the Internet, especially with the next Black Widow movie is coming really soon, which might open up the identity of the dead one in Endgame!

Endgame might not be the end for Natasha just yet!

To be more specific, there are more than just one Black Widow that exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the one that dies might not be Natasha Romanoff. Let's find out about the identity other 'Black Widow' that has died in exchange for the Soul Stone in Avengers: Endgame with us below.

But before that, let's have a look at the trailer of the upcoming Marvel movie - Black Widow - potentially the last time we see Scarlett Johansson stars in a Marvel's movie:

The dead 'Black Widow' might not be Natasha Romanoff

If you have watched the final trailer of 'Black Widow' and followed our deep review for it (you can find it here if you haven't), you might know at the beginning who might be the one that we're mentioning. Yes, the one that the theory is suspecting right now is Natasha's 'sister', Yelena Belova, which will also be the leading character in the upcoming movie.

The reason I have to highlight the 'sister' word because she was not a sister of Romanoff genetically. In fact, Yelena Belova is the sister-figure that was trained alongside Natasha back in the Red Room, and is also a candidate to become another assassin like the 'Black Widow'. This is also the first time that Yelena will appear in MCU, and if the theory comes true, it might also be her last time as well.

To be more specific, Yelena Belova is played by a nominee for Oscar - Florence Pugh in the upcoming 'Black Widow' movie. The trailer has shown both the 'sisters' lived and gone through the training project to become the Black Widows duo, and Yelena shares everything with Natasha, including the assassinating skills and also the pain from the past.

How could it possibly come true?

So people might wonder how could Yelena Belova be the one to sacrifice for Soul Stone? All of us have known that in Avengers: Infinity War, the only way to receive the Soul Stone from the hand of Red Skull was to sacrifice the person that one loves the most, which Thanos has done to Gamora to fulfill his dream. So how could it be possible if it's Yelena - the one that barely has any connections with the Avengers and Hawkeye?

Is it legit that the death of Yelena Belova could result in achieving the Soul Stone?

The answer given for this issue is simply due that the rule was simplified in Endgame, just down to a soul for a soul. While that's not convincing enough, the rumor spreaders have added a small detail into the mix, which mainly focuses on the disguising technology - Photostatic Veils. This technology has already existed in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which is before the event of the Civil War - the story leading to the 2020's Black Widow. Very possible, isn't it!

If that's true, Yelena has successfully tricked all of us, Red Skull and the Avengers!

Photostatic Veils allowed Yelena to put on the image of Natasha, which then contributes to the fool of Red Skull, allowing Hawkeye to take the Soul Stone. If that comes true, then all of our tears were the result of the fool from Marvel! Nonetheless, I'm not angry at it at all, if we could still see our beloved agent Natasha Romanoff in action for more movies.

Black Widow is scheduled to come to big cinemas on May 1. Do you think that theory is legit? Let us know in the comment section below!
