Mojang Studios just rolled out the Minecraft April Fools snapshot everyone’s been waiting for, and it’s called Craftmine—pretty funny name, right? They dropped it a few hours ago, and it’s already one of the coolest April Fools minigames they’ve ever made. It might feel a bit confusing when you first jump in, but there’s a clear way to play it, plus a ton of awesome stuff to check out in this wild update.

Step-by-Step guide on Playing the Craftmine Update

First things first, you gotta make a new world. Right away, you’ll notice there’s no creative mode here—sorry, builders! You’re stuck picking between survival or hardcore mode, but you can turn on commands if you feel like messing around with them.
When you spawn in, you’ll be standing on a stone platform with a Craftminer block right in the middle. Just right-click that bad boy to whip up your first mine, and boom—you’ll get teleported straight into it.

Your main mission is to explore the mine and hunt for the exit, which has a blue beam of light shooting up into the sky. The exit portal’s got blackstone around it, and that beam is way easier to spot at night, so maybe chill until it gets dark to go looking for it.

While you’re wandering around, you can tackle challenges like fighting off mobs or breaking blocks to earn XP and grab new Mine Ingredients. Those ingredients let you craft different mines with all sorts of cool twists.

Once you find the exit, right-click it to bounce outta there. When you leave, you’ll score some XP and a Shimmery Key, which you can use to unlock perks in the Player Unlocks menu—just hit the “U” key to pull it up. The more XP you stack up, the more perks you can grab, like extra inventory slots and better crafting options.

There’s a bunch of other neat stuff to dig into with this Craftmine snapshot. For example, every mine you finish gets saved in the Memory Lane section, so you can go back and check it out later. If you revisit a mine you’ve already beaten, you’ll get an Eye of Exit item that lets you dip out instantly without having to run through the whole thing again.
