Originally released back in 2017 for PC and consoles, the 2D fighting game Brawlhalla quickly went on to become somewhat of a phenomenon thanks to its cutesy art style and intense gameplay. The game currently sits at an 84% positive rating out of over 113,000 reviews on Steam and even got its own World Championship, which took place in Atlanta just recently. Now, Ubisoft and Blue Mammoth Games have announced that they are bringing this free-to-play platform fighter to Android and iOS next year. Check out the game’s PS4 trailer below:
For those who don’t know, Brawlhalla is a fighting game with a Nordic theme (the title kind of gives that away already, doesn’t it?) The gameplay is somewhat similar to the likes of Super Smash Bros. where players will pick from dozens of heroes to duke it out in a variety of modes. The goal is to try and send enemies flying off the map.
Alongside the announcement, Ubisoft has also revealed several interesting tidbits about the upcoming mobile port. In terms of content, Brawlhalla Mobile will feature more than 47 legends with various single-player and co-op modes. Competitions – both local and online – will be available and crossover content will be included as well.
At launch, Brawlhalla on Android and iOS will support cross-platform plays with the PC and console versions. However, it’s worth noting that cross-play doesn’t equal to cross-save, which means you will probably have to buy content on the mobile port again, unlike with games like Fortnite.
In any case, Brawlhalla Mobile is having a closed beta test in the near future, so if you are interested, you can head over to its official website to apply for access. The game is set to launch next year for both Android and iOS, though no specific date has been confirmed at the moment. Given that the PC and console versions are free, we can expect the same of the mobile port. Stay tuned for more updates!
