Adventure is one of the few game genres that actually feel suitable for the mobile platform. A large part of that is due to the fact that the point-and-click controls of PC transfers very well to the touchscreen.
In these kinds of games, you basically just have to tap the screen to perform most actions, from moving the characters to interacting with the environment to solve various puzzles.
Additionally, adventure games often feature an engaging plot too, and they are just perfect for the smaller screen, especially with winter coming. Now, you can take your phone with you, snuggle up in a warm blanket and enjoy a great story.
Here is a list of the adventure games (or franchises) currently available on Android that are considered the best in the genre.
Life is Strange
Arguably the best adventure game right now, Life is Strange follows protagonist Max, a young photography student who discovers that she has the ability to turn back time at the exact moment she is about to witness another student getting murdered.
Thus begins an emotional coming of age story set in a small town in Oregon. Life is Strange’s prequel, titled Before the Storm, is also well worth playing.
The Walking Dead
This is yet another masterpiece from Telltale Games, the name behind several other hit adventure entries such as Minecraft, Game of Thrones, Borderlands, and many more.
In term of gameplay, The Walking Dead is very similar to Life is Strange. Throughout the game, you will have to make some incredibly difficult decisions at crucial moments.
CHUCHEL
CHUCHEL is a cutesy, cartoony adventure about Chuchel, a hairball who embarks on a quest to save his precious… cherry.
The Silent Age
Unlike some other titles on this list, The Silent Age was built from the ground up for the mobile platform. It is set in a dystopia with the protagonist being a janitor who has the power to freely travel through time.
Oxenfree
Oxenfree is essentially Stranger Things: A group of kids happens to come across a supernatural incident that releases ghosts into the world of the living, so they set out to fix the mess. Along the way, you will have the chance to follow plenty of deep conversations between them.
Thimbleweed Park
Thimbleweed Park takes place in a mysterious town of the same name. You follow five different individuals who want to find out what exactly is going on.
In case you don’t know, this awesome game was made by Gary Winnick and Ron Gilbert, creators of the classic Monkey Island.
