Genshin Impact: Best Chongyun Team Comps For High DPS

Chongyun is a 4 star Cryo Claymore character in Genshin Impact. With a lackluster kit, Chongyun is a B-tier character that rarely gets invested in. However, with the right team comp, players can definitely make him work.

In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase the best Chongyun team comps to maximize his DPS potential.

1. High-End Chongyun Team Comps

Chongyun's biggest strength is his low cooldown on both skill and burst, which results in very consistent cryo procs. This also makes him very easy to gear and play. Furthermore, he also has a low energy cost, near 100% uptime passives and decent damage scaling.

The biggest weakness of Chongyun is his conflict with superconduct, lack of AoE, low HP and reliance on constellations.

Chongyun + Klee Melt Team

Chongyun is the main combo enabler of this team comp, applying Cryo first so that Klee can trigger Melt. Klee works fairly well with Chongyun in a Melt comp, as she does not have any physical damage attack and is therefore not affected by Chongyun's passive.

Venti can group enemies up for elemental combos. With his relatively fast Energy Recharge, players can swirl either Cryo or Pyro to reduce enemy resistance with the Venerer set.

Fischl's Oz is a good source of damage when other skills are on cooldown. It can cause either Overload or Superconduct, with the latter allowing Chongyun to deal more physical damage.

Chongyun + Ayaka Freeze Team

Xingqiu is the main enabler of this team comp, continuously applying Hydro to opponents with his elemental burst. This reacts with Ayaka and Chongyun's Cryo application to freeze enemies.

Ayaka is the main damage dealer of the team, who deals damage with her burst. Chongyun's elemental skill (on C2) can reduce the cooldown time of Ayaka's burst. He also enables Cryo resonance for a boost to crit rate.

Lastly, Jean is the main healer of the team, swirling Cryo with the Venerer set to reduce enemies' resistance.

2. Mid-Tier Chongyun Team Comps

Keqing + Chongyun Superconduct Team

This team revolves around Keqing dealing damage with her Charged attack, maximized by superconduct. Chongyun serves as a Cryo spambot alongside Diona. His Elemental Skill (requires C2) lower the CDs of Keqing's Elemental Burst.

Diona provides the team with shield and Cryo resonance. This crit boost allow Keqing to boost her Physical damage even further.

Jean is the last member of the team, who provides occasional healing with her burst. Furthermore, she can also swirl Cryo to crowd control and allow Keqing to deal more damage.

Xiao + Chongyun Physical Team

This is a f2p friendly lineup, with all characters being 4 stars. Xiangling and Chongyun are the core of this team, triggering Melt with their kit to deal high damage.

Sucrose and Bennett provide useful boosts to the DPS duo, with the former increasing Melt damage while the latter boosting ATK. Bennett also provide heal and Pyro resonance, which is a valuable source of free damage.

3. F2P Chongyun Team Comp

This lineup is designed for complete f2p and new players who want to build around Chongyun being the main DPS.

Chongyun's main role is to apply Cryo to enemies. He can then do even more damage by attacking whenever his Burst is up. Chongyun can trigger Melt with help from Xiangling and Amber.

Amber's taunt provides limited crowd control. Players can use her normal and Elemental Burst can quickly apply Pyro to enemies.

Xiangling's Guoba is a good source of Pyro damage. Furthermore, she can also provide the team with Pyro resonance. Lastly, Diona's main role is to spread Cryo and provide Cryo resonance to Chongyun.
