Game Overview and Setting
Astrae Oratio (also known as Asora) is a subculture RPG that blends anime-style magical girl fantasy with everyday bureaucracy. Set in a fantasy version of Tokyo in 1889, where the existence of magic has accelerated society’s development, the story follows a protagonist suddenly assigned to the mysterious Special District Office. Players take on the role of a public official navigating magical cases, hidden mage societies, and daily life among a cast of charismatic characters.
The game falls into the Shin-denki (new legend) genre, which mixes ordinary modern-adjacent life with secret supernatural elements kept hidden from the public. Gameplay combines visual novel-style storytelling and dialogue choices with 3D turn-based combat. Battles feature action points, skill chains, break gauges, timed defense mechanics, and ultimate abilities tied to domain declarations. The presentation draws heavily on 1990s and early 2000s nostalgia through retro tech props, feature-phone-inspired UI, and character designs that evoke classic Japanese animation.
Development Background and How to Follow Updates
Dynamis One, a studio formed by veterans of the Blue Archive series, is developing the title. NC (formerly NCSoft) serves as publisher. The project first appeared under the codename Project AT in early 2026, with steady releases of character trailers, world-building details, key visuals, and short comics building anticipation ahead of the planned 2026 launch.
Fans can follow updates on the official website at astraeratio.plaync.com and the English X account @Asora_EN. With recruitment now scheduled, Astrae Oratio moves one step closer to letting players experience its unique mix of stars, magic, and civil service firsthand.
