Garena and Kadokawa Corporation have officially titled the anime adaptation of the hit mobile battle royale game Garena Free Fire as Free Fire Daybreak. The series is scheduled to premiere in Spring 2027 and will broadcast and stream worldwide, including in Japan.
Production and Staff
The project is a joint co-production between Garena Online Private Limited and Kadokawa. Studio Candy Box is handling the animation. Ken Takahashi, known for his work on Ragna Crimson and Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, is directing the series. Hotaru Asafuji is in charge of series composition and screenplay, while Kouji Fujimoto of Sus4 Inc. is composing the music.
Story Overview
The story is set in the futuristic metropolis of New Dawn, a city dominated by the powerful Horizon Corporation. It centers on 16-year-old Kelly, who awakens with no memories of her past and becomes entangled in the corporation’s mysterious experimental Project Bloom. In the process she unlocks Limit Break, an extraordinary ability capable of releasing anything that has been sealed away. As fragments of her memories return, Kelly teams up with new allies including Hayato and Moco to investigate the conspiracy surrounding Horizon Corporation and confront the threats endangering the future of New Dawn.
A new key visual has been released showing Kelly alongside Hayato and Moco as they prepare to face the challenges ahead. The artwork also offers a glimpse of Kelly after she awakens her Limit Break ability, reflected in shattered glass fragments. An official promotional trailer is expected to drop later this week.

It ranked as the most downloaded mobile title from 2019 to 2021 and continued as a top battle royale download in subsequent years, at one point claiming over 100 million daily active users.
Free Fire Daybreak promises a superpowered battle-action story focused on truth, friendship, and the fight for New Dawn’s future. Fans of the game and anime audiences alike now have a clear release window to look forward to in Spring 2027.
